Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

IF we were to call tomorrow, would the number be 609.273.5011??

who’s actually going to call? there’s a chance you can find out about your rejection before hand. It’s better to wait in heart-throbbing anticipation instead of wait in dread for the bad news thatready ben given to you by phone.but alas, the waiting game is the most miserable game to play.

Grrrrr I want to call but I’m scared that they’ll say “WELL YOU WERE ACCEPTED BUT NOW YOUR ACCEPTANCE HAS BEEN RESCINDED DUE TO OBNOXIOUS PESTERING SO YOU CAN GO CRY YOU LITTLE **** HAHAHAHAHAHAHA” or something along those lines.

i’m like lunar_years and tremulant1…

i really doubt i made it. but if i somehow miraculously HAD and i called in, they’d probably say something along the lines of “we were GOING to accept you, but seeing as to how you have no patience, we think you should prepare for a rejection”…

i’d be… tires to think of a devastating-enough word reallyreallyreallySAD. hahaha.

wait, is someone calling?! CALL FOR UUUUUS! (: we should all “draw straws” or something. hahaha. it’d be kinda like forcing oliver to ask for more soup. oliver (in his case, a potential tasper) would get the blow…

hmmm. why would it matter so much if we called? It just shows that we’re really really interested, right? what’s the big deal? ; ) am I just being really blunt about this thing??

Well, I say that because I really, really dislike inconveniencing people, and I feel like that would just be over-the-top annoying if they clearly state on their website that the decisions will be mailed to us in “early May.” Ahhhh, it would be amazing just to have it over and done with though…

I wish you could look up your status on the original application. I think that would be the least stressful way to find out.

Is anyone going to call? Because if it goes well, I’d like to as well.

Er, that was an awkward sentence. Don’t call me out.

So, I’m not sure how many of you have done this yet, but I just looked up all of the professors’ CVs…and they’re amazing!! Eeeeeeeeeeee I really hope I get in.

I’m going to brainwash myself into forgetting how awesome TASP is so I don’t get disappointed when I’m rejected. :D

Have faith!!! They’ll accept everyone this year because we’re so out of control and are on CC at 11pm on a school night!

We can call? I’d rather receive the bad news early. Oh, god, the anticipation…

Does anyone know the TASP phone number?

I’m listening to sad depressive music to prepare myself for a potential rejection, but it doesn’t work!
and yeah the Profs are amazing…

For Gods’ sakes, SOMEONE call. I doubt they’ll let us know until they pick the seminars, but there must be someone who’s brave.

Someone who isn’t me. But trust me, if no one gets up the guts today, I’ll be calling at 7:01 am in a week, and d*** the secretary.

I’m semi-sure they won’t let us know before everything, including which seminar you’re put in, is official. In addition I don’t want to think so much about it, I try to get my mind off it.

phone: (607) 273-5011

Well, someone needs to try, d***it. Office opens at 7. You know you wanna. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m going to my wonderfully early school now, so I physically can’t try until this afternoon (no cell phones at school).

And I can’t do it, because I’ll probably fail at dailing the right number because of the huge complicated number needed to call out of germany into the US to ithaca, plus it’s expensive. The typical nobody wants to go first situation, but once somebody does, the lines at their office are going to glow.
So we both got very good excuses ( well not really ), what about you guys?^^

I’ve called. Yes, it’s true! I woke up at 6:30 am at my end (I live in CA), and called before I was still a little groggy. (I think this is the equivalent to drunk dialing.)

Transcript:
[woman picks up at first ring]
TASP: Telluride Association.
Me: Uhhhhhhh… I heard the Telluride Association made their acceptances and rejections last weekend? I would like to know the status of my application?
TASP (probably Ellen Braer, omg): Nope, not true. The decisions are made next weekend.
Me: Oh. Okay… But I thought the acceptances are done last weekend and the seminars are determined next weekend?
TASP: No. None of the finalists have been determined yet.

And it pretty much ended there. She sounded a little bit annoyed and although she might’ve been lying to keep the decisions classified, it’s pretty clear that Telluride’s not gonna let us know until the end.

So hang in there, guys!

XD i love how ppl are trying to throw others under the bus by trying to convince them to call. we have just about a week. good luck to everyone. hopefully everyone on CC makes it
