^Read my above edited post. “Stressful” - I’m not quite sure what you mean. I’m more familiar with “Already dead inside”.

There have been some incidents that have led to people being kicked out, if that is what you mean. It is the same responsibility that you will get in college.

I should probably sign up for the SAT’s. I wrote them in October, but looking back it’s amazing how much a person grows over the course of a school year.

I’m kind of worried about the SAT II’s though. The way IB courses are semestered at my school means I won’t finish Physics, Chem, or Math until May of next year. That won’t do x_x

I signed up for the May SATs, but I’ve got an academic competition on the same day, so I’d rather go to that. Then I’ve got subject tests in June… Guess I won’t be applying early action.

Does one have to have their SATs done by june to do early decision? What about the October SAT?

Oh, haha, you’re probably right. I’m kind of clueless about standardized testing stuff. I’m officially a failure as a CC-er.

The problem with the October SATs is that you won’t get your scores BEFORE the November 1st ED deadline for most colleges, so if Morgan Freeman hates you and you do the same or worse on the October SAT (or SAT subject tests) as you did before, you’ll have to send it to the college (colleges if you’ve got EA prospects, which most CCers do) without having any clue.

I checked the College Board website, and you can view them online on October 25th. Yay! I feel sort of lame for never having taken the SATs before, though.

…Well, fine then. (sulk) Is it Monday yet?

We need a TASPlicant facebook group.

Hey everyone, I am just procrastinating for my AP Bio final tomorrow… YAY!

As far as SATs go I found out today while talking to my friend that she verified in writing her October scores would count at Georgetown. While I realize that is only one school. Their website is pretty explicit they only take junior year scores for their SAT Is and 3!?!?! SAT IIs so I guess that is a good sign.

I find the whole group thing hilarious. Last year there was a TASPlicant 2007 group with most of the CC people plus some others. Then the day notifications went out, pretty much every seminar had its own group with atleasy 75% of its members already joined.

This year there is already a group something of the likes of “I really badly want to go to TASP 2008.” Unfortunately the most if not everyone left the group after interview notifications came out ![]()
I personally think there should be a more modest and less insinuating group title like “TASPlicants 2008” or something. XD

Less than one week! I am so glad I was on vacation last week and now have a final to worry about instead… Only on chapter 4 though :-/ Like 50 more to go!

Okay, someone who is not paranoid like me should make that group! I say paranoid like me because I have my name blocked from searches outside of my network, and I’m guessing I’m the sole Ohioan on this thread. Also, when is Monday???!?

Five million point five light years away.

I’m tempted to make it, but at the same time it’s kind of embarrassing haha

Make It, leave it, join it.

You wont be an admin, simple beauty.

click

someone join so it doesn’t get deleted when I leave

my stress is not even close to over haha. i live in arizona where the school year ends in late may, so there is a ton of stuff piling up at once. tasp-induced anxiety constitutes only like 50% of my total angst burden-- at any other time it would be like 98.

I’d like to join, but I’ll jinx myself if I do.

Another questions for TASPlicants: What are you going to do if (cross yourself, knock on wood, and sacrifice a goat to the TASP gods) you don’t get into TASP? Unless Buddha descends from the heavens on a mission to protect all CC TASPlicants, it’s going to be a reality for some of us.

(cross myself, knock on wood, sacrifice a goat to the TASP gods) IF I must, I will send in my application for a competitive (and I mean competitive. It’s the only internship anywhere around here that I’ve heard of, and it’s two slots for about 45-50 applicants) biology/environment internship (app’s due the 30th, so I’ll hold out for Heaven - I mean, TASP). If I fail at that, then I’ll do my Calc course at the community college (it’s online, so I’ll do it regardless of my TASP outcome) to catch up on my school’s Math track and hopefully find a job as a lifeguard. They’re hurting for waterfront lifeguards in New York State, but I’m not so sure about pool lifeguards. And study. Of course.

Oh great TASP gods, please do not forsake me.

Don’t let me jinx myself alone ;_;

As for me, TASP was the only summer program I applied to. I’ll probably just work and save up my money for debate trips, clothes and random electronics. After going through some old posts from last year, I REALLY can’t see myself doing anything but TASP though.

Lol, karajanhra, I’ve been talking about goat sacrifices for a while now-- just realized I got it from you!

If the TASP gods forsake me, I’m going to madly spam some of the professors at nearby universities to see if someone will let me clean out their test tubes-- ahem, I mean, do research with them. And I guess I’ll do a correspondence course, if it’s not too expensive. And work on EA applications, if my October SAT doesn’t suck. And volunteer at the public library.

Also, AP tests are both stressful and lame.
