<p>I’m going insane. I’m staying off of this website until Monday.</p>
<p>I have something new to lecture about, mostly because if I don’t occupy myself I’ll break the rules and let myself watch it. It’s A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila. Now, I enjoyed Season 1; I did. I know it was the typical taste-handicapped MTV dating show (granted, with a bit more razzle dazzle than normal) and that Tila’s as genuine as Obama and Hillary boozing it up in public for the blue collar voters, but I couldn’t have cared less if Tila had impaled herself on her own Key To Her Heart. I was watching it because 1) it WAS a publicizing of the existence of lesbians, even if all of them but Dani (and Stephanie, but she got the boot so early in that she didn’t count) were MTV “bisexual until I see you tonight, big boy” wannabe porn stars, and 2) Dani was adorable. Bobby was also adorable, and he came from a town 10 minutes away from mine. </p>
<p>However, the aftermath was a particular low even for crappy reality dating shows. Tila never contacted Bobby after the finale, dumped him ONE week after the reunion episode aired, and ONE week after that she announced that she’d be the star of A Shot at Love 2. Coincidence? Like a fox playing bongos in a hen house - planned out before Season 1 ever aired, I’m sure. Therefore, I vowed that the gruesome, horrible capitalism that is trying-to-get-to-famous-for-wearing-booty-shorts-and-taking-them-off-rather-frequently Tila’s 2nd season would never stain my eyes. Ever. Ever ever.</p>
<p>HOWEVER - the premiere was on last night, and I was tempted. I did not watch it, but I was tempted. It’s replaying right now and I’m reliving the parts - however entirely fake and overblown, I know - that I foolishly bought into during Season 1. I will not watch it. No. No no no. But oh, am I tempted.</p>
<p>Let me say again that Tila’s death would only improve the show for me. Also, there is at least one reasonably intelligent person that does enjoy, despite all rational thought, a dating show on MTV. But you children, you let it be. Adorable people on a show will cloud your mind and hypnotize you into ignoring its sole existence as a publicity vehicle for Paris Hilton’s Asian successor.</p>
