bleh, but you haven’t received any emails about anything yet?

No I had to call in to find out that I was wait listed.

Does anyone know how many people are waitlisted? Is it actually 5 girls and 5 guys, because that seems like a lot.

5 girls and 5 guys according to musechick from last year. It’s not a lot; it just seems that way to us because we know how amazing TASP is, but not everyone does.

If you are counting only CCers there are potentially more. Then again that is the limitation of a wait list.

Never mind, if it really only 10 people I’m not too distressed.

I doubt many people would decline the opportunity though, which is kinda disheartening. Although I guess there might be the kid or two who chooses to go to Europe with the family or something, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

I didn’t plan for any alternatives, as I applied to TASP AFTER a whole corruption fiasco for debating. I really don’t want to work at Wal-Mart this summer…

also wow by this point anyone who knows me who googles tasp and finds this thread will definitely figure out who it is. creepy.

Then volunteer that is what I will probably do, if not wander the streets of brooklyn.

hey i was wondering wut can u expect from tasp for those of u who have taken it…sry i’m new lol i found this site while searching online xD

does anyone know what dorm the ut austin tasp people stay in?

^I dont know, but i hear ALL of the dorms there have air conditioning!!!

Ut is officially the best seminar. Movies, Air Conditioning, and in an actual city! What more could you ask for?

You could ask for Cornell 2, that’s what. :)

I made UMich!

tyler09, not all the houses have air conditioning… i don’t know if UT Austin does (i think that’s probably the newest house out of the three), but we stayed at a sorority house last year at michigan and there was no AC. of course, with AC there wouldn’t have been fan club (uber, haha :)), so you’ll find ways to make the heat fun. we had water balloon fights out in the front lawn one day because it was so humid we couldn’t stand it.

also, there are no dorms. if i’m not mistaken, the michigan seminar is getting the branch house this year. cornell I and II both stay at the telluride house, and UT austin gets a frat/sorority house. the houses are supposed to be more conducive to “community living.” it’s very fun and cozy, because it really does feel like home for those six weeks.

Hey, has anyone gotten the “formal letter” yet? I’m kinda paranoid about the postal service, since I somehow never got a snail mail interview and was contacted solely through email. :P

as for the emails, have only the accepted been given them? o_o

lunar_years, me too! Someone said there was a mistake before: they sent an accepted email to a person who was not rejected! oh God, that’s even worse than being a rejectee :/

Did they already send out the “official” letter?

I heard it was supposed to arrive Wednesday, but I haven’t got anything yet :/

hm I got all documents via e mail a few hours ago
I hope the whole visa process doesn’t take to long

i got my letter! nothing too fascinating though. forms come later, apparently
