I have kind of awful grades so if I get an interview…I don’t know…

Anyway, I saw on the thread from 2006 that the interviewer will mail/send out the interview notifications by her/himself so it won’t all be uniform. It’s up to the interviewer on whenever he wants to send out his grades.

Grades have next to no impact on your application. The essays are by far the major component.

In 2010 and 2009, and perhaps before, TA sent out an email letting people know they had moved on, and a little while later, interviewers set up the interviews.

ivyleauge2016 - how awful are you grades?
i was just wondering cuz im kind of in the same boat as you.
im in the IB program. and im smart. but my grades dont show that. haha

so what if you get an interview and the interviewer then sees your transcript. how do they decided at that point? cuz dont the grades make them more bias? they would feel like the kid with a perfect 4.0 gpa would be a better candidate than the kid with an average not so shining 3.2-3.4 gpa… or something like that.

@Avlily I totally agree. I have been doing such a good job of distracting myself up until now. School is going to be torturous until I find out either way.

haha I’ll try. And don’t worry, my back up plan is to apply to enough places that it becomes statistically unlikely that I’ll be rejected everywhere!

Just out of curiosity… I know that posters to this thread mentioned that they would be reading apps. Has that happened? Will you also be doing interviews?

I’m just holding out until the interview descisions come out… it would be wonderful to get one, but regardless of the outcome, I’m really proud of my essays and it was overall a cool, if stressful, experience applying. I’ve already got a spot at my state’s governor’s school, so no worries on my part.

But of course, TASP would be a dream come true. <3

Uh-oh, I hope this flurry of thread activity doesn’t revive my TASP anxiety again. A few days after submitting, the craziness of junior year got ahold of me again and TASP, though always looming in the distance, had slipped from my mind up until recently. The trick to not worrying about applications is definitely to stay busy - it’s working for me in any case.

But wow! Time passes so quick. I can’t believe interview notifications are coming out this week already; I never even bothered to check the dates since I figured you good people (CCers) would post at first news anyways haha.

Well, my fingers are crossed, good luck to all! No regrets, I’ve been mentally bracing myself for rejection for some time: that way, either I get rejected and will be able to accept it easier or I get accepted and will be that much more surprised and happy! :)

So, I was kind of freaking out realizing that interview notification time is almost here when I stumbled upon this thread. I know I’m way behind the game, but did anyone else apply with a less than satisfactory/ sort of horrid lit analysis? Just wondering if I’m the only one and/or if that will totally disqualify you from the running…?

californian: No one knows for sure (that I know of) but the site says mid-March and last year’s applicants got notified towards the end of the first week in March… hopefully the interview notifications will be out this week, but it’s not for sure.
