Tempurpedic vs. Serta iComfort

It’s called the “Savant” model. It’s been a body life saver for us this year. I also get hot, and it’s not a hot bed.

I’ll be a contrarian.

When we moved to our house two years ago, we put our 25-year-old queen-sized coil mattress in the guest room and bought a new mattress for ourselves. I bought the cheapest coil mattress that Sleepy’s had. Two years later and no one’s complaining. I really don’t understand all the fuss. Lots of people all over the world sleep in hammocks, on the ground, or on straw mattresses. I think we overthink this stuff.

Everyone has different aches and pains. Centuries ago, people also slept on corncobs and used outhouses. I think it’s called progress.

This past May, we got a Select Number bed. When H and I tested ourselves in the store, I was not surprised to find out that we are almost opposite when it comes to numbers. He wants a 85 (firm), and I went a 30-35 (softer). With this bed, we can both be comfortable. We also got the adjustable base so we can raise the head (individually) and feet (has to be the same for both of us). I have a pretty good case of GERD, and used to prop up a bunch of pillows on nights that I didn’t eat dinner early enough to prevent symptoms when I laid down. Now I don’t have to, I can just raise the head of the bed when I go to sleep; often times, when I wake up a few hours later, I will lower the head to almost flat.

@conmama, I’ll grant you I would not relish a return to an outhouse. :open_mouth: Progress is many things is good!
