Hmmm I though the deadline was to order the car by 12/31 instead of taking delivery…that’s a bummer
^^Negative, that is why Elon said that folks need to order by mid-October to guarantee delivery by Dec 31. That being said, a December order just might be available, depending on color/wheels. When we ordered our second, it was ready in 10 days. (At the time my neighbor was still awaiting his first delivery, and he made a rez two years ago.)
In Colorado we also pay a $50 road fee for not using gas.
Only $50? Ours is several hundred dollars!
No fee at all in Massachusetts. We even have a $2,500 state rebate.
Several years ago (before we owned tis car) the state had a rebate. Now we pay for the privilege of not buying gas and keeping the air clean :-w
California just started a $100 extra reg fee, but we still have the rebate for $2500, and another couple of rebates from the utilities/air quality groups.
Professor: I just read on another blog that Elon tweeted that they will try to deliver all orders made by Nov 30 by Dec 31.
And I read that he just bought a trucking company to improve deliveries.
Has every one already connected their car to their wifi? We have been using the Tesla connection all along. But, I noticed that there was an update reminder that went away yesterday. Not sure if it did the update automatically from Tesla or it went away because we don’t have our wifi connected?
Yes, have home wifi connected. Some people say their signal isnt strong enough to get to their car. You may have to add your network manually.
yes, we have the cars on home wifi.
yes, cars will autoupdate. The announcement that pops up on the screen is just a notice that an update is pending and allows you to schedule it should you so desire. (The car must be asleep for the update, so you won’t want to be driving it when the mothership beams down the new sw!)
btw: you can see the sw version from teh app on your phone. Just scroll all the way to the bottom. I currently have 42.3.
Just got a notice a few minutes ago to schedule an update, accepted to start now. I guess we need to connect it to our wifi eventually. The speed can be slow here at times and drop off, so I was reluctant to do it. I remember reading it needed our wifi to update maps and maybe other things?
yes, I believe that you need wifi to update maps.
Perhaps you can add a range extender towards your garage? Or google mesh network?
I think it will work ok in the garage. Router is one floor directly above the garage, we just have periods of no internet. I’m sure it will be ok. Hope it still uses the Tesla internet for updates, though.
Wow. All I can say is wow. We got record for this day snowfall today, and Mr.'s Model X made it down our icy, nasty hill like it was no big deal!! Very impressive traction control.
