I deposited in Feb of 2017, and my delivery estimate stills says Aug to Oct. However, the section of their site accepting new orders says the estimated delivery time is 4 to 6 months. How could my deposit from 15 months ago only be putting me one month ahead of a brand new deposit?
We did a trade in. Very reasonable offer (close to blue book) with no questions asked when we got there to pick up the new car. They asked for certain photos and we upload to them about a week before pickup. Then, they gave the offer within hours. They also asked for the condition of different parts of the car. Frankly a relief and easy.
I suspect this is because many are holding out for the basic 210-Mile model. As soon as that one gets announced, the queue dynamics could change!
Good to know about trade ins. Mr. is hopeful that someday he will trade his truck in for a Tesla e-truck. Sigh. There is nothing like hauling a load of crap and stumps to the dump in a shiny new EV!
Chose enhanced autopilot but not the dual engine thingy. IIRC, even though it was announced as available it wasn’t yet a clickable option. At least not as I recall- didn’t want to anyway. And it would push out the delivery date.
Congrats! You will like it. Plug and play.
This appeared in my newsfeed tonight:

Oh, forgot to answer… the color… red!
I never could understand why Tesla would want to include a $35,000 price model. Did Musk want to compete with the Chevy Bolt? Chevy is much better equipped to lose money on the Bolt, considering how many models of vehicles they sell with big profit margins. Was Musk hoping a majority of Model 3 buyers would upgrade to more expensive trim levels?
I would not be surprised if the wait for this entry level price point isn’t much longer than the current projections indicate, in an attempt to discourage these customers from taking delivery.
That entry level price point isn’t available at present. Only the extended battery ($9k upgrade) and premium interior ($5000 upgrade) is available now. Want a color other than black? That’s $1000. Want the enhanced autopilot? That’s $5000. Want fancier wheels? That’s $1500. The dual battery is another big cost and it the opportunity to get the full autopilot when available (it will cost 1k more if added later).
Don’t forget the self driving add-on to the autopilot - that will set you back another $4K. The all-wheel version will come out soon which is base priced at $78K.
I wonder if it “NEVER” will be available???
It will be available. Many people with reservations are waiting.
That is what i got, jym. Great minds think alike!
Elon truly believes that the $35k model will be an industry disruptor and significantly improve the environment at the same time.
But you are correct. GM can easily lose money on every Bolt it sells, while making it up on SUV’s and trucks.
Good choice. B-) You will need to think of a good name for her.
That is what I meant by the “full autopilot”. @ProfessorPlum168 . You can pay to have it when its available. Its simply the press of a button to download it onto the onboard computer.
My husband drives a Bolt. He loves it and got it to replace his Nissan Leaf when the Leaf lease was up. We had to go to another state to pick up the Bolt. They are hard to find in a color you might want. It has much more range than did the Leaf .
DS is planning to get a Bolt which is why he gave us his Tesla reservation.
Red here, too
