Tesla 3

Mr. B just priced the copper wire for the installation of the 220V charger, and it came to $500. Not counting the conduits etc. So we decided that other RE projects are higher priority than the 220v Ms Tessessella’s charger.

*Ms. Tessessella is the official name of Mr. B’s 4 wheels.

The exterior of the car is sxy but all of the interior is not my taste

Love it!

Does your utility offer any rebates for EV charger installs? (Just got an e-mail from SoCal Edison and they are offering rebates again to put towards the installation of an EV charger.)

I forgot to look into that too…

Thanks! I have to check, but I have a suspicion that the rebate will be $500 (what it used to be). We will hire an electrician to do the wall install, but someone still has to dig the trench and reroute the hot tub circuit to the garage.

Ugh, that’s some serious effort. But hey, a pick ax at Home Depot is cheap and the digging is good for the heart.

No refund/rebate/discount for us from our EMC :frowning:

Our contractor had a real challenge getting the lines run, and then covered it with some metal conduit which my DS didnt see when it was still on the floor in the garage. You can guess what happened…

Still waiting…
Did get an email teaser asking to reconfirm the registration, payment, etc info. No date yet…

We got that email and it was ready in 2 weeks, good luck!

Somebody’s birthday present is arriving in just over a week  (just called to set up the insurance)

Tomorrow is the day

Still hving trouble getting the car moved from DS’s account to mine. Shouldn’t affect delivery, but still…

Can’t wait to here about your experience, jym.

Does anyone here who has the 3 have the summon feature update on their app yet? It was just released 2 days ago but apparently is slowly trickling out. Why wouldn’t the update go to all apps at once?

@jym626, the greatest challenge I had in purchasing my Tesla was getting them to switch the updates from my husband’s email to mine even though the reservation was in my name and I had all the account info and sent requests from both his email and mine. After about 4 months of emails and phone calls it was finally changed. They kept saying they needed a programmer in California to do it. Huh? All I could think was “this is a high tech company and they can’t do a simple email update?”

Luckily I love my car!

If you get the long range performance battery delivery is a lot sooner. Projected delivery for our July 1st order is now sept. The whole 35k order thing is a scam. Sticker came out to 65k. :frowning:

@10s4life How did your order end up at 65k? I just got an email from Tesla to place my order, and I know only the long range battery is currently available, along with the premium interior. But I assumed I’d be looking at 50k after choosing a color different than the “free” black.

@RandyErika that’s the normal long rang battery. But they also have the performance model. It’s my dad’s car. What pushed it was afternthe performance selection, gray paint, and adding the 20 inch wheel and carbon fiber spoiler it pushed it there. Personally I don’t think it’s worth it cause you’re pushing model s territory.

Jym, we found that live humans at the store were much more efficient at solving issues than folks answering Tesla’s chat or calls.

10s, that is the game all automakers play - guess how much that $13k base model Corolla is? If one wants just the basics added to is, it gets close to $20k or so. Sure one can drive the $13k model with manual locks and windows etc. but most folks would want at least that upgrade.

You are looking at significantly more than $65k if you want a long range, performance S.

Look upthread, @RandyErika. Long range battery and premium interior are currently mandatory. Want any color other than black exterior? That’s $1k more. Then there are upcharges if you want the enhanced autopilot, dual battery (I didn’t get the dual battery), opportunity to buy the full autopilot when it is released, at a “reduced” rate (hahaha) and now there is a white interior option (that wasn’t available when I bought, but the white is WHITE. Like intensely WHITE. Even though they say it is protected, one errant pen drop or coffee spill…

The listed options can load up the price to $59,500. Then there is the destination charge that is reportedly another $1,000. Probably the $65,000 or so includes tax and license.
