Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

Hello everyone, idk if this has been asked yet. But for people who got accepted to Blinn or TEAM, does your name show up on the Texas A&M directory? Thank youuuu

@Henry91 Blinn TEAM is a pathway, and considered full admission to A&M-can live on campus, have a sports pass, pledge Greek fraternity/sororities.
The student & major is listed in Aggie Directory as Blinn TEAM (until student fulfills requirements to change majors).

Straight Blinn students would not be listed in Aggie Directory, as they are students at Blinn College, not A&M.

The directory thing confuses everyone. I was in the directory and got PSA. It seems that your name starts showing up in the directory after getting access to AIS, and it is no indication of admission status. Now, once you are admitted (even to Blinn), more than your name shows up. It will show your major (or Blinn Team), classification and TAMU email.

This is partially incorrect, confusing. Blinn and Blinn TEAM are two different things.
Blinn TEAM (and TEAB) are offered pathways thru A&M, a collaboration between the 2 schools, dual acceptance. Great programs!

Blinn is a community college based out of Brenham, with a campus in Bryan. There are many kids-who don’t get into A&M, or just want to knock out basic classes cheaper- that go to Blinn every year. Those students are not affiliated with A&M at all.

It gets confusing, but acronyms matter!

For those newly admitted this week, we had 7 tabs on Wednesday by 7:00 AM CST. Major changed in AIS later that day to Blinn TEAM. Yesterday, AIS updated to Admitted and official acceptance letter was in AIS.

Housing Portal was not accessible at all on Wednesday, she kept receiving an error. Yesterday (Thursday), she could log in to the Housing Portal, but could not apply. This morning, she was able to apply for Housing, so about 2 days after 7 tabs. The link for housing application got added right next to the Home link on the housing portal home page. It was not super intuitive if we were doing something wrong, so wanted to try and help anyone that may be confused!

Hope this helps!

@Danielle_Scroggins - Do you mind sharing his stats? My kiddo applied POLS then COMM. Top Quarter (125/840), 1230 SAT, 5 AP/DC, 3.77 UW. ECs are strong…and applied 8/8. Pins and needles over here…

Yep, meant to say ‘Blinn Team’ in the first set of parentheses. Thanks!

You’re awesome! Thank you for that updated info because it changes all the time. Glad housing was accessible and y’all could get Phase 1 done. Please be sure you get an email giving you Phase 2 info so that you know Phase 1 is complete. It’s been missed every year for some… like you said, not intuitive.

Top quarter (top 14%, but that’s not an option to say); 1210 SAT, 6AP/Dual; EC: 4H, tennis, student council, NHS, UIL academic teams, 4.056 GPA. He’s officially Blinn Team. We just signed up for the New Student conference today

@Danielle_Scroggins Thank you for sharing. Mine is close to that…we’ll just have to see what they say. I’m 1000% okay with Blinn Team!

We know people that have applied and not been accepted who are currently listed in the directory. And my son who was accepted to engineering still has no major listed, but we have registered for NSC so…. :woman_shrugging:

My son’s only shows his name (he as been admitted into engineering), but we haven’t registered for NSC.

Is anyone having difficulty with the housing portal?

It doesn’t open right away, just keep checking

Our son just checked his AIS portal to find that he has been admitted to Texas A&M General Engineering. He is in state and applied long after the October 15 early deadline for engineering (sometime in mid-November). His stats are 3.8 UW GPA. 35 ACT. Varsity sport, moderate ECs and an internship last summer with a forensic investigator company. He is not sure about staying in Texas, but is excited to have this offer.

I wonder when his acceptance came in… did he check often? With a 35 ACT, not surprised at all that he got full admit. Congrats.

@BUDadof2 congrats!
If he is even remotely interested in A&M, pay the non-refundable $75 deposit RIGHT NOW. Housing will fill up, and housing selection time is based on time stamp deposit is paid.

When does housing normally fill up by?
