He had checked on Tuesday because some friends had heard. He had no decision on that day. He checked again after school today. So the decision was sometime Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of this week.
@Ae1231 usually first week of March, but last year it was 3rd week of February. My guess is it’ll fill easily by mid - late February-if not earlier-this year, simply because the acceptance timeline started earlier.
When we completed the application, it assured us that we had guaranteed housing since we completed Phase 1. It said something to the effect of mid-February would be when they can’t guarantee it. I can’t recall the exact verbiage, but it was towards the end of the application.
@texasmom7 ahhh, then yes, much earlier this year. Good info to know.
Do yall think we might get some decisions soon?
Getting nervous!! Public health major as first choice. Bio environmental sciences as second. 3.7 UW and 4.1 weighted. 28 ACT. Top 20%. Large competitive school. 9 AP classes and the rest honors classes. Swim team coach for three years. Year round lifeguard since 15. Essays were ok. Now hoping for a Blinn Team offer. It looks like holistic Public Health majors had to wait until the very end of the cycle last year. Ugh!! We want to start planning our summer vacation but can’t do anything until we hear from TAMU.
My daughter’s good friend was holistic Public Health and wasn’t accepted until March two years ago. Ugh! I hope you find out sooner! My son is top quarter, 1310 SAT, Eagle Scout, Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Gold), Business Incubator team, 4 years on golf team, works at Farmer’s Market, etc etc and is still waiting for 1st choice Econ and 2nd choice Ad Econ. We would love a Blinn Team offer! My daughter got Gateway two years ago (2nd quarter and much lower SAT) and it was a gift from heaven above. I hate having to relay all these stats but it does help make us feel not so alone.
*Ag Econ
Those are amazing stats. It seems like he would be a top choice. I hope you all hear soon! Thank you for sharing his stats. Knowing that my daughter is not alone in waiting to hear back makes it a bit easier to keep waiting!!
Any PoliSci acceptances today?
Just FYI. My daughter was a holistic public health who got accepted late September. She was in the top quarter of a competitive TX public high school. I don’t think her stats were anything out of ordinary except her SAT (1490). I think applying really early helped since I do know one more of her friends also got into public health in October. Good luck for your daughter.
We are really hoping for the “options” to come out this week. My son was offered the choices and chose TEAM on January 26th two years ago. My second son has 1370 SAT, orchestra chair, tennis, part-time job, but unfortunately second quarter after a horrible 10th grade year which he explained in his essay… we are Praying for a TEAM offer! He has a very nice offer at OU, but we all want him at A&M. It seems like there are still a lot of amazing kids waiting, good luck to everyone!
What “helped” her was the 1490! Thats very high for tamu. Congrats to your kiddo!
Thanks! We weren’t sure if she would make the cut based on GPA etc. compared to the stats routinely posted on this thread. Just wanted to inform and spread hope that public health does admit people holistically. Good luck to all the kids waiting for admission.
Congratulations to your daughter and her friend! That’s an incredibly high SAT!! I don’t think Public Health is an option for my daughter now. One silver lining- I’d actually prefer for my daughter to enroll as a Bioenvironmental Sciences major in the AGLS school. Any holistic students hear from Bioenvironmental Sciences?
Sorry, I (my daughter) don’t know many kids for that major. Good luck to your daughter - hope she receives the major/school she wants.
Anyone have any engineering/computer science acceptances, that are non-auto?
I have a 3.5 GPA (freshman year/COVID screwed me over, I explained this in my application), 1430 SAT, 30 ACT, play football, orchestra, Boy Scouts (almost Eagle scout, Order of the Arrow member), president/founder of computer science and cyber security club, student council representative, and applied in early August. First quarter.
Today someone on Reddit reported an OOS full admit for Engineering (7 tabs on Howdy). No stats were reported. I am yet to hear of any alternate pathway admissions for Engg.
What about in state? I’m in state
My son was not an auto admit. He was just outside of the Top 10% of his class. His unweighted GPA is 3.8 and he has a 35 ACT. He played football and a few other school extracurriculars (NHS, STEM Club) and one good summer internship. He received a full admit to General Engineering at College Station last week (sometime between Wednesday and Friday - he wasn’t checking his portal regularly).
