Nope, not a thing. Trying to stay patient. I’ve hit the point where I check this forum before Howdy because I’m sure someone will find something faster than me…though I feel like I’m checking religiously even though I know better.
Wondering if they would post 7 tabs in the afternoon, or am I wasting my time checking it every hour… heeheehee.
Don’t confuse me with someone who knows anything. I just read and regurgitate.
From all posts, Howdy updates sometime between 6 and 730 AM and that’s it. Of course, we’re checking more often than that because, well, if it’s bizarre and abnormal I’m convinced it’ll happen to us.
I come here first! I don’t have access to my daughter’s Howdy/AIS so I rely on you all to tell me to tell her to check it .
Has anyone heard about merit offers/awards yet? On Facebook they’re talking about it, saying they got notice they got one, but my son doesn’t have anything in his portal (and he has a 4.0)
In Texas, only private colleges really give offers (or discount?). TAMU merit mainly on NMSF/NMF, and Brown. And similar to UT, TAMU may even phase out NMSF/NMF in the near future.
Mostly need base going forward, and require FAFSA.
So I need help as to what this means… or perhaps just confirmation. Just now, on the howdy portal, under manage my applications, the location changed from college station to Galveston and Mechanical engineering to general engineering. Does this mean an offer is pending? Does it mean 3 options? Nothing else is changed and still says under review.
I do not have the answer to your question, but curious…did it just now change (as in you looked earlier today and it’s now different), or you noticed it now after not checking since before today?
I checked at 7:30 am this morning and it still said college station and mechanical engineering
That sounds like admission to TAMUG, possibly through PSA (although I’m not real familiar with the inner workings of PSA).
Every engineering applicant is admitted to the College of Engineering into general engineering. You have to pick (and be admitted to) a specific discipline later.
If you haven’t applied separately to TAMU Galveston, then it is Engineering at Galveston. It is considered admission. Go through the same ETAM like main campus engineering students.
Galveston is not a system school so not PSA.
Galveston is not a PSA school but is part of TAMU. If your major changes to general engineering, whether it shows Galveston or CSTAT – that will be full admission! Congratulations. Hopefully, you Howdy and portal will change soon too.
Understood. Congrats, Cal76.
Ok thanks… so Galveston will be the only campus offered usually right? No option for Blinn? Confused on the whole three options offered last week versus this scenario.
My nephew was in the same situation. You got placed at A&M Galveston for their ETAM program. It’s the same coursework as CSTAT, Blinn and McAllen.
For Blinn, you’re basically co-enrolled in two schools. To go through ETAM, you’d need a 3.75 at both schools for auto, and the grades from Blinn count as transfer credits (meaning you get the credits but not the grades, so you’re GPA at A&M isn’t affected by the Blinn credits).
From what FriscoDad said, the Galveston program is considered part of A&M and is a full admission.
I am guessing you got into Galveston. From my understanding, not everyone is offered the 3 options for Engg. S23 last year also was informed through email that he got into TAMU Galveston - we never got the 3 options.
Thanks everyone… I’m assuming it’s Galveston . Any idea of how long it takes to update the AIS?
Congrats. Definitely Galveston for first year. Well done. It’s a great option.
