Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

Studying on the beach and getting to pull football tickets before everyone else (hopefully including the TAMU-UT game). What’s not to love?

Many others on Reddit are also reporting seeing the same change in Howdy for Galveston. Congratulations!

TEAM, Engineering at Galveston and Engineering at McAllen are the same, along with main campus full admit.
All four groups go through the same ETAM. Those with 3.75+ GPA get their first choice engineering majors in sophomore year.

First time on this thread. Curious,Tamu started making decision on Forensic Investigative Science majors.

Hey veterans - have you ever seen a second wave of Gateway like we seem to be seeing today?

@crzylaugh unless your student is NMSF, joining the Corps or need based, doubtful they’ll get an incoming scholarship. There are literally HUNDREDS (perhaps thousands?) of Valedictorian & Salutatorians in every incoming freshman class…who don’t get any scholarships all 4 years.

One post on Reddit this afternoon did mention a Gateway admit.

Not sure why I thought I saw more than 1. A quick search there indicates only 1…maybe they just hadn’t checked their AIS in a bit?

Took another look. There were 2 reported under the same Reddit post.

under manage applications in howdy it shows under review, my major, my program, and location (college station) but it says Login to AIS to view Decision. what does this mean? ais shows under review

My daughter was in a second wave of Gateway in 2022.

Same here and it took about 3 hrs for AIS to update and then it was offer for PSA. If your change major and withdrawal buttons are gone—-most likely it will be PSA or decline. Good Luck! :pray:t3:

FYI - I found this subreddit and someone posted a poll this morning:

Haven’t seen any other gateway offers today. Typically one wave only.

My son is engineering admit (NM commended, high SAT, salutatorian) got a letter by mail today with a merit scholarship. The letter also said that financial aid offers will be delayed this year due to FAFSA delays.

My son info changed today and location is Galveston as well for general engineering. Is it a good program for their first year.

Last night, after reading the advice to check the “Manage Application” section, we saw our younger son’s major change to general engineering and gv (but his AIS was unchanged). Already this morning, he has seven tabs and his AIS lists general engineering and GV. On to Galveston to study Ocean Engineering! :tada: :anchor: :beach_umbrella: :+1: Good luck to those still waiting!

It’ll be general engineering. Then ETaM then he’ll have an engineering major.

Yes! And he’ll BTHO ETAM! He knows Python and has learned so much from his older brother, Class of '26. He plans to stay in Galveston for the duration. We met with the student services department head last summer, which sealed the deal for us.

Some stats:

dyslexic and dysgraphic; not a competitive SAT score but high on the math side; rank 201/695; SRAR placed him in 2nd Q; Eagle Scout; applied 8/1/23; NHS; four years in Theatre company; taking AP Calc AB and many tech classes; and has shown much interest in TAMU.
