Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

Glad you see some form of direction or change to the application. We are still Under Review, all buttons, so while unclear on end of the journey we have assumed outright rejection or an option we won’t choose.

Our daughter won’t accept the PSA option, but we’re just hoping for some closure this week. Sounds like some people have been told by admissions that all decisions will be out by the 11th.

Is it sensible to assume that the confirmations for the 3 options for the ENGINEERING majors are going out first and then the NON-ENG majors will get their confirmations if selected TEAM only from the 3 options? Any guesses as to when this will start rolling out?

Is it hard getting a 3.75 gpa in general engineering if I join corps?

Galveston is the same as main campus, students participate the same ETAM as those full admission at main campus, TEAB and McAllen.

I think it’s a safe bet. Hoping we hear this week for sure.

Thank you

@wohoo1 a 3.75 will be not be easy. Period.
The Corps & FTAB will make things harder. But the Corps does provide their own tutoring for Engineering students.
A 3.75 can be difficult…even for the strongest student.

What is FTAB?

Check out this FB group for help navigating pathways. I have had kids take several pathways and all are Aggies! Two semesters flies by. There is also PTA option where they attend Blinn right in CSTAT and guarantee transfer over after the two semesters. Not a whole lot different than getting Blinn TEAM. Good luck to your daughter! Still hoping for full admission, but just wanted to share my experience that the pathways are an excellent options. It’s literally a matter of too many qualified students trying to get in as Freshman at TAMU. Let me know if you have any questions. Most are answered in the FB group below, which I started a couple of years ago as a PSA parent myself. Lots of knowledge and experience there, and you are welcome to post and ask questions before making decisions. Life is full of detours. We have surveyed parents in these programs the last two years and the surveys can also be found in the group. A lot of positive feedback to be found on these routes to TAMU. There is a tremendous amount of experience with various majors as well. Best to your daughter!

If your student has to have Animal Science, UNT’s Animal Biology is a good backup. Within UNT however, BS in Chemistry yielded the most pre-Vet.

I called Admissions today to check about this February 11th date. The lady I spoke to said “no such deadline”, decisions will be made throughout the month of March.

My daughter said she received an email from A&M that they were trying to get decisions out by Feb 11 but if not, by end of Feb? I didn’t ask more about that since that matched what was being posted on this board.

Curious if the timeline advised by Admissions was for decisions on all remaining applications or decisions for those that specifically chose Blinn TEAM as the option? I’m still hopeful for a firm decision on Blinn TEAM this week!

I appreciate it. I’m not on Facebook, but I did do some research on the PTA option. They don’t offer her major and she’s pretty dead-set on it (animal sci) so I’m not sure that really works for her. I guess she could apply for a change of major later on, but I would think that would have to be after a year at TAMU and that then puts her halfway through college and I think there’s time limits on when she can change a major. She’s really started to focus on her back-up college unless by some miracle she gets Team or Gateway, which I really don’t see happening at this point.
