Just seems so odd since all applicants are reviewed first for admittance then if major is still open, they move into that major or their second choice. Engineering is the only one with a second review for engineering selection.
Now I’ve seen in the past BIMS hears later than others, but not every year.
@TigerGirl06 you could call Admissions 5x in a row, speak to 5 different people, and get 5 different answers.
I’ve never seen anything ‘different or special’ regarding PoliSci applications.
Hm, thats understandable. I’m probably just looking for any explanation at this point. I’ve been admitted to a lot of other great schools with good scholarships OOS, but A&M had been my dream and to not get any answer (and I mean I will take any answer at this point) is quite frustrating. Beyond that, knowing that there will be no more full admittances from February is heartbreaking.
I just finished all the MPE4 practices in the web, is that considered enough? Or should i try and find more practices in the internet? If so, could anyone provide me the link? Thank you!!!
Bush have small freshmen enrollment (~200) for all majors. Half of those are autos. Bush is bigger in transfer and pathways (by senior grows to 450). So when people got admitted they are not necessarily reporting it in social media.
Technically admission is not “holding” decisions as auto already got in through last Fall. For small majors however, admission sometimes release at later batches. INTA (international affairs) also participate opportunity majors (POLS not). And opportunity majors require last tally of open spots so it can be late.
At this moment, I am more inclined to believe it is more likely PSA or opportunity majors. But I won’t be surprised if a few admission trickle out.
So should I email the residence department again saying that I want to stay with my LLC? Or do I take the risk of getting out of the LLC and probably guaranteed housing if I get into the LLC?
@HowBoutDemBoyz if it were my kid, I’d stay put in LLC line. Since it has been mentioned today, that they’re already hinting at Temp List, that means dorms are just about full.
I would CALL ResLife, speak to an adult-not a student-and explain you want to stay on LLC list.
Have them email you confirmation of this.
Hopefully it isn’t too late…
Once they start with Temp List, that changes everything.
What does that mean “international affairs also participate opportunity majors”
My kiddo is selected international affairs major first.
The waiting is rough indeed.
She graduates Summa but 3.8UW, didn’t submit sat, class officer, pals, varsity athlete. Volunteer and traveled to 8 countries with schools.
She so right on the cusp.
Opportunity majors are like regular full admit, mostly small size majors. Historically, last to fill. It started last year. There are rules for opportunity majors.
The average gpa of cadets is higher than the average gpa of the student body at-large. My son is engineering and joining the corps and we are very impressed with the academic support system there; also, in a given year, 40-60% of cadets are engineers.
What I’ve read is that if you want to transfer to another major, outside of the Opportunity major chosen, then you need to maintain a 3.75 GPA or higher over 40 hours. Pretty tough task.
I wanted to double major with business anyway, so I was just under the impression that I could double major with an opportunity major. Besides, I am fine with English (an opportunity major) because that is my second option major. Can I not double major?
