I suspect that they complete items in batches, then upload them to the system at some point in the day…and then they start working through and push the Howdy update the next morning.
If that’s the case, and I’m going to just going to guess they’re not working on the weekend, it looks like it’s tomorrow morning or no sooner than Tuesday.
Question for those of you whose student has applied to both TAMU CS for engineering and Galveston for engineering. And by this I mean submitting two applications, not just checking interest in Galveston on your TAMU CS application.
First, is it necessary to resubmit SAT/ACT scores to Galveston if you have already submitted them with your main campus application? I’m assuming it is not necessary because both campuses share the same college code and it seems like the people reviewing applications for Galveston would be able to access the scores from the main campus application. Please let me know if this is wrong.
And second, how can you differentiate between the two applications and what you are being accepted into (if you get an acceptance) on the Howdy portal? And how about the AIS portal? Does it show the status of both applications and if so, is it difficult to distinguish between the two?
We aren’t engineering but did apply to both. No, you don’t have to resubmit SAT’s. Yes, easy to identify between both schools. When you check AIS you can toggle between the two.
@Aggies1997 Aggieland Saturday and Admissions decisions really don’t have anything to do with each other. Aggieland Saturday is for prospective students, primarily geared towards juniors and sophomores (tho anyone can register and attend).
All true but I get the sentiment. I think you’re looking at campus completely different if you know you’re going there, instead of “I hope I go here” or “I might go here.”
@52AG82@FriscoDad@Christi1993 If we have heard nothing, have all buttons, and still in review should we skip Aggie Saturday? Its a 2.5 hour drive for us. He will apply to Galveston to see if he can get in that way, but again might be in the same boat as we are now.
@HowBoutDemBoyz Temp Housing means you start out in something like a converted study lounge or closet (with other ppl, shower down the hall), until open beds become available. You will have ZERO input on where the assigned bed will be. It could be a couple days in the Temp location, or it could be weeks - months.
You are FAR better off with LLC…if LLC isn’t full.
@AggieLove if you’ve already toured A&M, then I guess i don’t understand why you’d be going to Aggieland Saturday?
Does your son have other college acceptances?
There’s no guaranteed pathway per se it’s meet the team requirements and change major. But you can petition to do this earlier than the 2 year requirement.
On the schedule it lists there are Galveston presentations/resource tables, pathway overview, and his specific major presentations which were not included on the tour we did. I guess it is a waste of time to go if we have heard nothing yet, since it seems as he will be rejected? He will try and apply to Galveston under a diff major, but I have no idea if that is just as hard to be admitted to. Yes, he has been admitted to other colleges…just had his heart set on TAMU.
@AggieLove I would schedule a tour at Galveston instead-but that’s just me.
And I’d have him apply to Galveston asap, if he’s interested.
I would also revisit, reevaluate the acceptances he does have. There are MANY great colleges!
There is usually a Galveston table there, but the first time I went to Aggieland Saturday with my oldest, no one was staffing the table. And last year, one of the Galveston representatives was one of my son’s friends (a Galveston student) and he ended up directing visitors at the Zachry building so there really wasn’t much of a Galveston component to it. Because it is a pretty long drive for you, you might just want to wait and schedule a tour after you have a decision. Also, the Galveston campus has its own Aggieland Saturday coming up in a couple of weeks.
I don’t even know if LLC is still open. I am guessing it is most likely anyways full, because I got my acceptance super late and couldn’t apply for housing before. So by this point most housing and probably the LLC (at least the engineeirng one) would probably be like 99% full
That’s good! You paid deposit ahead of Blinn TEAM admits.
Unless your confirmation email stated you would placed on Temp Housing, then you are guaranteed a bed.
If you know anyone going to A&M, you can ‘match’ with them (phase 3) and whoever has the higher selection time (you would definitely want to find someone who was auto admit, for better selection time) ‘pulls’ you up in their time slot.
What I don’t know is, since you reached out to ResLife and asked them to take you off LLC list, that may kick you to the back of the list. You definitely do NOT want that. Temp Housing isn’t ideal, Wait List is the kiss of death.
I strongly urge you to reach out to ResLife and clarify. You need to get it straightened out before Blinn TEAM acceptances go out.
