We were there too! Did he say anything to you about non-engineering applicants that have already received the three options? Or was he saying that most kids already offered the three options will get a PSA offer?
We went and attended the TEAM info session. We asked after the presentation (which was really good!) how much longer for the 3 options people waiting. The presenter said deadline to select from the 3 choices is March 1. So they plan to know all the TEAM students sometime in March. My son told him he picked waitlist and TEAM and he said that was great choice. So not really much of an answer but fingers crossed we hear something soon.
We’ve been to UTD several times because my older son is a sophomore there. I personally love the campus and it’s a great fit for my Comet. I agree with you that both options are great programs.
Great information from Aggieland! Thanks for sharing the info. I still hope they release some decisions before March. If they are waiting for March 1st to send decisions I wish they could have at least let the 3 option students change their decision. We picked TEAM only but Blinn may not work out well for my daughter’s program. It’s a great choice for most students though. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!
Do you think opportunity majors will come out by the end of this month too?
Thanks for the info! Any insights as to whether the process is different this year compared to past years where the TEAM only selections received their confirmations ~2 weeks after the options came out? I just hope that we don’t have to wait another two/three weeks before we get the offers.
They didn’t say anything about opportunity majors in our session.
They said they were a bit faster this year compared to last year. They said every year there are more applications than the year before so overall the process has gotten longer over time. They didn’t say anything about the time it will take for students who got options to get admitted. I do remember that year it was 15 days between options being offered and officially getting admitted.
My son did the same. He got PSA in mid March for Fall 22.His applied TAMU major was Biology. Applied for Marine Bio at TAMUG, did his Change of Major after one semester in to his desired major Biology but remained at TAMUG for one more semester to complete his dorm commitment. Moved up to CSTAT for Fall 23.
It’s a good path and definitely is doable.
Best of luck to everyone still waiting for an answer from TAMU. I have walked in your shoes. Even if the decision isn’t what you or they want, know in your heart they find their path.
What does it mean if you didn’t get the 3 options and haven’t received anything yet?
Today is 15 days, so hopefully this coming week for sure!
I have the same question.
Reading Reddit this morning - someone is reporting that they got options yesterday for English. An additional “round” of options would be interesting information. Anyone else reading this get options but didn’t have them before?
I haven’t heard about more people getting options, but my son’s friend got Gateway on Friday!
Boo… still nothing this morning for TEAM confirmation. Another round would mean things certainly are different this year! Let’s hope for tomorrow ![]()
With respect to the Reddit poster (if they are here), I’m kinda unwilling to call it another round until I hear of more than one. Just playing odds with that statement. ![]()
BTW my son’s friend was Agribusiness.
OOS engineering daughter got 7 tabs this morning with Galveston as campus. I am looking into what this really looks like for her. She never got the options to chose from so this was a surprise. How difficult is it to physically make the move to CS after freshman year? Would she be able to access housing or due to being a sophomore she would not have the option to live on campus? She is awaiting several other schools and this may not work out for her but we are keeping everyintg on the table!!
Nothing has changed in our Howdy or AIS view since August.
@Abigail_Anderson congrats!
I’m hoping @FriscoDad can offer a stat here.
Wondering what the % of male/female students is at TAMUG? I ask, because we’ve only known males who started at Galveston, which makes me think it’s heavily one-sided? Might make a difference in your case.
To live on campus as an upper-classman at A&M, priority goes to those currently living on campus. They’re allowed to re-sign a dorm contract months before dorm selection for freshman. A good question to ask both campus ResLife’s would be-
does a TAMUG get the same privilege? If not, chances would be slim to get a spot on campus.
