Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

What does that mean?

Her friend could no longer be co-enrolled at Blinn. Her participation in TEAM was wrapping up a year early- she was ‘graduating’ from the TEAM program. Maybe ‘graduate’ is the wrong word.

Gotcha. All depends on how many AP & DC hours friend entered with, pre-reqs fulfilled and what major they applied to. It is possible to complete TEAM early, not everyone stays in 4 semesters.

Doesn’t have anything to do with making room for more students. The TEAM requirements haven’t changed.

My kiddo applied to CStat on 8/21 and received options on 1/27. She applied directly to Galveston on 1/10 and received full admission on 1/25. We’re still waiting on a response from her Blinn Team option, but she’s already received her Galveston banner. They’re quick!

My son applied to Galveston on Feb 1st, was accepted on Feb 8th. It was fast!

For those considering “direct admit to major”engineering opportunities at UTD: UTD’s Jonsson School is preparing the next generation of engineers and computer scientists

It is very common to push high GPA TEAM to main campus, at times it is the students trying to stay longer at TEAM to save tuition/fees money and enjoy smaller/less competitive classes.

3.5 or 3.8 minimum gpa for Mays is really irrelevant, though.

Students are competing for a limited number of spots, where a higher gpa increases the chance of acceptance. So, even if the minimum gpa was 2.5, almost no one is getting into Mays with anything below a 3.9.

I think it’s very interesting that there is a much higher percentage of honors grads from Blinn TEAM vs the university as a whole.

Well…guess this means PSA or rejection?

Interesting this arrived at 11:15am today and not early morning. Hope this has nothing to do with him applying to TAMUG last night.

My daughters Howdy changed to this yesterday between 11am-12pm. Still nothing on AIS

I am wondering this too. My son still waiting on CS and wants to apply directly to Galveston but we are hesitant because we are worried it may affect his CS decision. We have heard nothing from CS, still says under review. But want to apply to Galveston if he doesn’t get CS.

Just to ease your mind on TAMUG, I called and asked about this and was told they are not at all dependent upon each other, and not considered for the other.

Got the same in last half hour as well, still just 3 tabs in our Howdy portal. I am told this means PSA, unfortunately. Was hoping for the TEAM option.

I don’t think it has ANYTHING to do with the TAMUG application. If it’s any comfort, we spoke extensively with the staff manning the TAMUG table at Aggieland Saturday this past weekend and walked away quite impressed and with the feeling they genuinely care for each student. I strongly believe it’s a great place to start and acceptance is much more likely.

Do you all still have the “request to change major” button AIS? Ours is still there but maybe that is because AIS takes longer to update. I think Opportunity Majors is out for us also due to his major. (If there was a chance for that…no idea)

My son got this yesterday. AIS still has not updated with decision.

@benlurkin what makes you think this??

Same here. We got this notification between 11-12pm. Most likely it’s a rejection or PSA.

This was mentioned during the Blinn Team presentation this weekend. The presenter stated about 50% of Blinn Team students end up graduating with honors. It’s also backed up in the slides posted earlier of the top 20 majors of the most recent 1,593 students participating in Blinn Team.

@gabbytabby Did they share with you what the change major requirements were or how easy the process to move to CSTAT is if they go that route? I know it is a bit different than with PSA.
