Good evening to all of those who are reading this. So I got PSA’d from A&M, which was a bummer, however, I was recently given admission into Stony Brook (SBU) as an Information System and I was wondering if anyone knew what Information Systems exactly are and how different it is from Computer Science, friends told me the school very good but since out of state its crazy expensive, I was just wondering if anyone here knew what exactly is an Information System Major. Thank you for reading this.
Information system in general is the “IT” for most businesses. Maintaining network, hardware, security, and enterprise resource planning software. In certain degree they also need coding capabilities.
Information system has more job prospects than computer science, but slightly lower (still much higher than Arts) starting salary than computer science.
75% of computer science graduates work on IT jobs.
Top IT management can be from one with IT degree (adding some programming experience), or Computer Science degree (adding security and networking classes).
UTD has a better IT program than SBU. Did you try applying UTD?

I was there 93-97! Lived on the 99 cent Jumbo Jack and the 59 cent tacos at Taco Bell after JD Wells… heeeheeeheee. Don’t tell my son!

JD Wells!!! Forgot about that! I bartended at Denim and Diamonds for a bit. SO FUN. The Tap was our go to though. Such fun time! Weekends started on Wednesday then!

I called and received the same information. Panicked after seeing the post that was referred to about everyone who received options getting PSA. Was relieved to hear that options were still in the running!

Don’t forget about Hurricane Harrys! There was also some place that had karaoke on Tuesdays. Can’t remember the name.
I thought for sure it would be this morning. They like to roll out decisions on Tuesdays
Since it’s Wednesday, I’m gonna say go back to bed and get some more sleep.

@Christi1993 @FriscoDad and any others who have seen this process go through the past years, does it seem like this year had the most amount of people who chose TEAM ONLY based on Reddit comments and comments on this forum? I am just wondering if the reason behind the waiting game and if they are truly reviewing the applicants again to see which ones are the most competitive since they will not be able to give TEAM to all who selected TEAM ONLY due to more applicants selecting it this year.
