Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

You shouldn’t be able to see anything other than financial part. Unless they changed it. We couldn’t see grades or schedule. I had to keep a screenshot on my phone lol.

You can see semester grades after first year….midterms first year as well… you can also see transcript and class schedule

Ooh nice. That’s ringing a bell now. My sons been out 2 years.

Just wanted to share information from our CS visit today. We signed a 12 month…4 by 4 at Calloway Villas….3 levels…2 bedrooms on 2nd and 2 on third. A friend of my daughter’s was fairly set on that apartment so we were flexible and I personally liked that location versus North side…and we just wanted to get housing accomplished and off our minds. We are going to get the 7 meal a week plan for my daughter…she will just walk right over to Calloway House to eat….it runs 900 per semester for the 7 meals. $1800 for 14 meals a week and $2460 for unlimited meals per week. Brookshire Brothers is very close…situated between Calloway House/Villas and Park West. Park West was beautiful driving by and we will keep it in mind for the future but for my year one freshman we liked Calloway Villas….smaller complex and the Villas seemed more like a townhome versus apartments… furnishings are very nice.
To get to Rellis she will have to do the A&M bus to central campus and then switch to the Rellis bus. She may just drive to Rellis…it is approximately 11 miles from the Villas to Rellis. Also they have assigned covered carport parking for $40 a month (optional). One last perk we got a kick out of, was each bedroom has built in speakers in the walls….that you can play white noise on to drown out train and roommate noise!
We drove by Rellis campus and it is beautiful. We are so excited finally after so many stressful weeks!

Great info 89Ag! We were at Callaway Villas today and really liked it. I don’t think they told us about the speakers in the walls. I didn’t know they could sign up for meals at Callaway either. I think you may have had a better tour guide!
We drove by Rellis when we visited in January. The buildings were modern and well designed! I can see why most Blinn students end up liking it. The drive there was very easy!

Excuse my spelling…Callaway…lol…it was a long week and day! Yes the meal options were big for us…we will now skip dining $ on campus and just give the food at Callaway House next door a try the first semester. You have the flexibility to change number of meals etc each semester. My daughter loves to cook but I don’t want her wasting study time on cooking!

I would still do dining dollars while on campus. Easier to use ID to swipe and not have to worry about it. Most places accept it and it rolls over to spring semester.

Smallest amount of Dining Dollars, for sure! :100:

I agree. I live off campus but still do the $400 dining dollars option because I sometimes grab lunch on campus or Starbucks. Also, this semester, they had a deal that anyone doing a dining dollar plan would get one free meal a week as long as it’s ordered on the app.

We are headed to College Station to look for off-campus housing. I have only heard of two places that offer dining halls, Cambridge Hall and Callaway House. Does anyone else know of somewhere else with a cafeteria for students? My son loves to eat!

That’s it, only those 2 places.

Thanks so much for sharing! We’re going to make a day trip to check out options too. Spoke with Callaway House and think they’re way over-priced, but Callaway Villas is a great option!

If a freshman enters as a COLA Econ major, is it possible to transfer to Mays in sophomore year ? If impossible, can they do a minor at Mays ? Thanks.

Yes and yes. If you want help with degree planning let me know. My son did this a few years ago. Lost zero credits and ended with minor in econ as well. Can totally be done.

FYI - the large university here in Austin announced it is reinstituting standardized test scoring in its admissions decisions for next Fall. We’ll see if TAMU follows suit.

TAMU needs to follow suit because they never really stopped using test scores to make admission decisions. Those of us who didn’t know any better and were not on sites like this actually believed that going test optional wouldn’t hurt, as told to us by admission officers. Universities that recently announced they will once again require test scores include UT, Yale and Brown University.
