Are there any options to be reconsidered for Mays as declines come in through May? Can he submit a request to change major back to business?
He really wants to do the five year accounting program. He has already been accepted to the Baylor business honors program and business schools direct at TCU & SMU, so all very good choices to consider.
He could start out in Econ, take the pre-reqs needed to change majors into Mays, but that isn’t a guarantee. He’d need a 3.9-4.0 and only 100 change of majors are accepted. For PPA, specific classes must be taken in order to apply, and only a slim timeframe to apply for PPA. I don’t recall ever hearing of someone who didn’t start out in Mays, getting into PPA-but that would be a great question for your son to ask someone in the PPA office.
If it were my kid, I’d take the Baylor offer. Great Acct program!
Same here for my son as of this morning - he said 1st choice (Poli Sci) and 2nd choice are the same. It’s been that way since September for him too. Still have not heard of any Bush school admits yet (unless it’s buried in this thread somewhere) so fingers still crossed!
so, if my AIS portal still shows “Business Admin” next to “Mays Business School” as #1 is that a good sign? Econ is my #2 but Mays has not been removed for me. Does this mean anything or not really? Thanks for the help
@Kargideda it can be viewed as good…or bad.
It seems a big wave of acceptances went out today-1st and 2nd choice majors.
The longer it takes for you to get an offer from A&M…most likely means 2nd choice or a pathway.
I’d say next-to-zero chance at Mays, at this point.
All applicant major choices stay the same, until just before a decision has been made. When you see Mays disappear, and/or both Mays and Econ, you’ll know a decision is coming.
@kelly8 depends. Some students are hard core set on Acct or other Business major, so 2nd choice is a bummer.
If you’re okay with Econ, then it’s a no brainer, straight admit is the way to go. Blinn TEAM is considered full admit, however choice of major isn’t a given.
Gateway is an incredible offer, but it’s TOUGH to get that.
PSA is considered, by many, a rejection. Mays is not an option via PSA.
