Texas A&M Class of 2028 Official Thread

So it looks like a mass send email?

Sorry, what is TEAB?

As far as we understand it, it is similar to the Blinn TEAM option for engineering students? We are new to all of this (it’s my oldest applying) so if I am incorrect, hoping someone here can help!

@PepperMilo & @Angela_Tutt TEAB is Texas A&M Engineering at Blinn-a joint enrollment between the 2 schools. It is a pathway offered, one can’t apply for TEAB.

Our friend just got the same email. He is just shy of qtr 1. Maybe its a mass email…

We just got that email as well. 1st quarter, 1310 SAT, Econ major.

On last year’s thread, the first TEAB, McAllen and Galveston alternate pathways for Engg offers were reported in late Jan (25th or so).

Hi, I applied to Texas A&M end of September as a public health major. I have a 1360 sat, ranked 1st quarter and healthcare focused ECs. I’m starting to get worried since it’s so late, what do you guys think my chances are for getting in?

S23 got this similar email last year and was admitted to Galveston on Feb 16th. S24 also got this today. I am thinking this is a mass email sent to all likely non-full-admit students. Both my kids are OOS and ranked in Quartile 2.

Thanks. But that was my screenshot from June. I was admitted after doing PSA. I was just showing someone what the extra tabs look like. Good luck to you!

So is that it now? No more college station full admissions?

Not sure, but quite likely for full-admit to Engg at College Station. The alternate pathways to Engg (TEAB, McAllen and Galveston) are worth researching. From what I have read, TEAB is the best among the 3 (co-enrollment with Blinn and TAMU at CStat, so no change of campus) and savings of >$10k for OOS students.

I have heard that they always send this email out around this time. I think they should continue with full admit for a little while but are getting closer to offering pathways so they want everyone to take time to learn about the pathways so they can make a quick decision if offered.

If the alternate pathways for Engg are of interest to you, please keep on monitoring the AIS closely from Jan 20th onwards as no email is sent. Last year, we were not aware of this and didn’t do so. S23 was admitted to Galveston on Feb 16th. If we had known, we may have chosen TEAB instead if all 3 options had been offered. For S24 this year, we are better prepared.

I have a 1430, 1st. quarter enge kid that got the email too.

Are you saying full admit to Enge at CS is full? Please share how you know. I have a 1430 SAT, 1st. q kiddo still waiting, applied early aug.

AiS says the following…
Engineering applicants who met the Early Action deadline but remain in review have been deferred to the regular decision timeline and can expect a decision by late January-mid February.

TEAB, McAllen, and Galveston are all alternate pathways offered by Texas A&M University to students who want to pursue an engineering degree at the College Station campus but may not have met the direct admission requirements. Each pathway has its own unique features and benefits:

TEAB (Texas Engineering Academy at Blinn):

  • A two-year program offered in partnership with Blinn College that allows students to complete their freshman and sophomore engineering coursework at Blinn’s Bryan campus before transferring to Texas A&M’s College Station campus for their junior and senior years.

  • Smaller class sizes and more personalized attention compared to College Station.

  • Guaranteed admission to Texas A&M’s engineering program upon successful completion of the TEAB program.

McAllen and Galveston campuses:

  • These campuses offer the same engineering curriculum as the College Station campus, but in a smaller and more intimate setting.
  • Students who start at McAllen or Galveston can transfer to College Station after completing their freshman and sophomore years.
  • Some advantages of starting at McAllen or Galveston include lower tuition costs and the opportunity to get involved in campus life in a smaller community.

Here is a table that summarizes the key differences between the three pathways:

Pathway Description Admission requirements Class size Tuition Transfer to College Station
TEAB Two-year program at Blinn College followed by two years at Texas A&M Lower than direct admission to Texas A&M engineering program Smaller Lower than Texas A&M Guaranteed upon successful completion of TEAB program
McAllen or Galveston campuses Four-year program at McAllen or Galveston campus followed by optional transfer to College Station Lower than direct admission to Texas A&M engineering program Smaller Lower than Texas A&M After freshman and sophomore years

Sorry can not upload the above table properly.

Ultimately, the best pathway for you will depend on your individual circumstances and preferences.

Hope it helps…
