She hasn’t taken the ACT at all.
If she feels like she could of done better, than by all means, retake it. Its truly the time for her to give it her all.
@3princesses4frogs , you might find post #124 upstream helpful.
Also, proof of Calculus (preferably in 11th grade) is critical for Engineering. From the 2028 thread, see posts #3042 and #3378. If Calculus is only starting now in 12th grade, there’s no proof of ability, so a stronger SAT/ACT is the best course of action.
Quick question and need opinion, would sending AP score report helps holistic application? My kid got 4s more than 3s… and those 4’s are related to his major
Hopefully one of the experts will weigh in as I don’t know about sending the official score reports, but I would say for sure to self-report on the common app and if he has earned an AP Scholar award to list that in the honors/awards section.
Last year, my daughter got the admitted pop up in AIS on 9/14 and on the pop up there was a link to apply to the housing portal. however, it wasn’t until the next morning on 9/15 very early that she was able to get into the housing portal…think it was said there was an issue. but able to register in housing portal the next morning just fine. She had the 7 tabs awhile before this all happened.
Thank you, that is helpful! She’s had 7 tabs a while now but not yet official, so when she goes to the housing portal through Howdy it requires a TAMU email to login (which she doesn’t have yet of course) so wasn’t sure if that would be the same process for when it officially opens and she’s officially admitted.
I asked my daughter if she remembered when and how she got the tamu email address and if she needed it for housing portal but she didn’t remember. however, I can see on the email confirmation she forwarded me when she did register for housing on the 15th - it was sent to her personal email - not a tamu email? It said something about logging into housing portal for any messages with NetID, which I think y’all would have already?
Correct, the housing portal says, “To log in to myHousing Portal you will need your student NetID and password.”
The student can login to the housing portal through Howdy. If you click on the “applicant” tab, then scroll down to the bottom of the page, then you can choose on campus housing. You will already be within the system, so you should not have to enter your TAMU email. If you do this now, however, it will tell you that you are not in the system and to wait until you are admitted.
She will need the tamu email to login. Even if you go through howdy it only takes you to the main page for housing and when you try to get into the portal to apply it prompts a login. The housing portal isn’t open yet. My daughter is a returning student and they told her it would open on sept 12 for returning students not currently in a dorm but want a dorm for next year to pay their deposit if they want a dorm. On Facebook they posted it would open for new students on sept 13 so they must be planning to have first round admittances done by then.
Good morning, all!
Curious if anyone happens to know the answer to this…
For high school CTE classes in Texas, do some count as weighted classes (e.g. Robotics) or are they all considered regular level electives? TIA
It is however your school weights them. Tamu has no say over weights.
Once admissions decisions are made and start coming out, do they normally just come out one time a day or do they come out in waves throughout the day?
Hi, I am top 10%, submitted my app 8/05 as an applied math major. This morning, I was able to login to the housing portal. However, I have not received any communication of admittance and my AIS and howdy do not say indiciate that I have been admitted yet. I am not able to apply for housing, just login to my account. Does anyone know what this means? And does anyone know when I’d be able to apply for housing?
This just changed for my son too. For the last few weeks, going to the housing portal returned a plain text page saying he was not in the system. As of this morning it opens the full Residential Life page and shows a student ID in his information. (He’s top 10% and still in Engineering Review though…)
My son is top 10% and engineering review but he is still getting the plain text page.
Thanks for posting this. I just checked and this worked for my son as well.
Needed to delete this but it won’t let me so ignore
