Texas A&M Class of 2029 Official Thread

My son received TEAM last week and it took a day or two before we were able to sign the housing contract and pay the deposit. It is super irritating that they don’t make it clear that you won’t be able to do it immediately. I clicked around for 30 minutes before I googled (and then remembered) that it wasn’t immediate. After a couple of days, I was able to select the term first and then the contract. My son signed up for Corps housing, so not sure about dorm selection, but I think once you are in the housing portal, you can sort it out.

My daughter lived in an off-campus dorm (Callaway House) her freshman year. So that is an option if you don’t get an on-campus dorm.

So lucky they didn’t have all the stress of waiting. My friend’s son received the three options last week, and saw 7 tabs today. It shows TEAM as major.

My daughter and several friends paid the deposit on Callaway House because weren’t sure when we’d hear back regarding admission. Seems all the freshman girls want to live at Callaway or REV (still plan to do housing deposit once it’s available to her) but she isn’t really interested in on campus housing. Can you message me your thoughts on Callaway when you have time bc don’t want to clog this feed on that subject. Thank you.

My son lives next door at Callaway Villas, but eats at Callaway House. He loves the food there. Even sends me pictures of his meals… heeheehee

That’s enrollment total, admitted total is far higher (~28k) based on yield.
11750 enrollment includes full admission, TEAM and TEAB. It is slightly higher than last year enrollment total of 11738.

Once you’ve signed a lease anywhere off campus..you are stuck. Don’t bother paying non-refundable campus deposit.

So you can live at the Villas and get a dining plan at Callaway House?

Yes, my son just does 7 meals a week there. He eats at Sbisa the other days. It is around 1000 a semester

That is what I’m thinking…

That is good to know!

Pretty sure there were callaway house discussions in this thread.
Did you read back a few weeks?

I will say that Callaway Villas is a lot cheaper, but the floor model does not look like what you get, they are pretty dated. There are lots of kids that go to Blinn that live there, and many of them like to party. My kid is ok with that, and will probably live there next year, because he likes the meal plan so much. He does get his own room and bathroom for around 844.00 a month.

No I didn’t read a few weeks back but I will do some reading now. Thanks.

Ours hasn’t either. Still just the 7 tabs. I’m sure it will take a few days

@CO2025R I’m sorry :frowning: My son is in the same boat. The waiting is brutal especially since they’ve had the app for 36,000 weeks!

Seeking some advice for NSC. Go early, late, just do what works for you? Is there any benefits to early or later NSC’s?

I’d avoid the earliest session-certain to be chaotic & full. Avoid the last/August session-it’s during Howdy Week and classes will be limited.
Make sure to sign up for specific major (if Blinn TEAM, that is your major).
Don’t sign up for a session before school is OVER-prom, graduation, etc.
Seats open up in EVERY (except August) session, to be fair.
Book a hotel room now for two nights-night before Day 1 and night of Day 1…even if you live close.
