Texas A&M Class of 2029 Official Thread

You are correct. It’s intended for those students who need a little help/direction to put them on a successful path. What triggers that decision is unknown.

I will say on a side note… it’s been mentioned several times that it depends on the admission “officer”. Just wanting people to know that there are many eyes and hands that touch the application. The decision isn’t done by one person.

How would I reach you on Messenger? Sorry, I’m new to this site.

Someone on the r/TAMUAdmissions subreddit said something similar: it’s typically given to strong candidates (so high scores, rank etc) with some unusual situation like first gen, disability, bad grades one year, etc in order to help make the transition to college easier

But take this with a grain of salt, I’m an applicant myself

We have 3 friends who entered via Gateway (one is a current junior). None are 1st Gen, not economically disadvantaged, 2 from very large 6A schools & the other from a rural WTX school, zero extenuating circumstances.
Obviously they weren’t auto admit, but they were good students, very involved at their schools, no connections or ‘pull’ with A&M admissions or alum.

Sooo…it’s a true mystery what Admissions sees in the students who are offered Gateway.

So it looks like they are going to have everything wrapped up and completed MUCH sooner than last year?! Like the next two weeks or so??

It’s usually by spring break and they seem pretty on target from years past. The only difference is team option only recd official word sooner than last year but on par from prior years.

Does that mean more TEAM offers will trickle out?

No, I don’t think so. They did a full team wave and then the option wave. Less than 700 students do this I believe.

Thank you @Christi1993. Seems it is time to move on!

That’s INSANE on the speed of options turning to admission offers. I guess after last year, it’s an over correction and the mean goes back to 2 weeks.

So excited for you guys in this boat. I can’t tell you the blessing this whole thing has been on Little Gold. Not just getting in, but the environment of Team Blinn itself being a force to action instead of being able to just completely jack around your freshman year (like I did). The few kids I know in TEAM all pulled great grades, and others on the 2028 thread did too.

Welcome to Aggieland!!!

I think it’s moving faster because they literally just announced they are accepting 800 less new freshman than last year. I suspect that lit a fire under everyone.

I had private messaged you about your thoughts earlier tonight before seeing this!
You think all TEAM options were done btwn Tues-Fri of last week??

Do you remember when he found out about EH?

Can someone please explain to me how housing lists work for TEAM? We signed up for NSC early June, but how do we get on the housing list- will we receive info about that anytime soon? TEAM sounds awesome but I am EXTREMELY worried that housing will run out. Please let me know if we should be doing something for this now. Thank you!

Does this new 11,750 number of freshman announced last week include all of these different pathways or is that the full admit total? Any of you gurus know? I have one more kid to get in!!

For anyone that chose TEAM in survey last week and then got 7 tabs on Saturday morning, has your status in AIS changed yet? Just don’t want to get hopes up. Thanks

We didn’t check that this morning but after the seven tabs showed up, we had a registration hold show up. Wanted us to choose our tuition model. So, I’m pretty sure it means you’re in. I’ll check that AIS status this evening and report. My daughter had the seven tabs show up Friday morning. Had the options on Wednesday. Picked that night. Seven tabs on Friday.

We are waiting for AIS to update as well. Howdy loaded on Saturday so hopefully AIS catches up by tomorrow.

I CAN say that her major and all that information did change in AIS at the same time. But the banner does still say ‘being considered’ as of yesterday.

Housing always fills up, but it should still be open. Dorm selection is based on time stamp $75 non-refundable deposit is paid. There will be a button/link on portal to pay-usually opens a day or two after acceptance has been given.
It’s a 2step process to pay/sign-up, so don’t stop until student gets the message about the next phase.

Be sure student signed up for a TEAM specific NSC session (many don’t realize NSC sessions are major based).
