DS has 7 tabs in Howdy today, 10/08/25, which is considered an indicator of acceptance. Holistic, OOS, Engineering, NMSF.
No change in AIS and no Housing application access yet (expecting in a couple of days, per previous experiences).

Not here either. I’m not sure what’s considered a good testing score, but I’ve gathered that unless they have good scores, it’s not likely until January… Hopefully I’m wrong…
The past several years, a 1450+ has been considered the score to have, if not auto admit, to hope for a shot at hearing something before January.

AIS status changed to Admitted for DS, and Phase I Housing Deposit has been completed. Interestingly, Howdy still shows “Under Review” in the Manage Applications section.
A&M’s student body is probably about 50% auto-admits, so that means that the Holistics are in the bottom half for Housing priority. Does a Housing priority date of Oct 9th mean that they are resigned to having only the expensive housing choices left to choose from? Although have heard in this forum that Hullaboloo and White Creek, though expensive, are preferred by those for whom finances isn’t that much of a concern.
ResLife indicated that Lechner Hall is the Honors Hall, so maybe those admitted to Honors would have a middle of the road option available in terms of expensiveness. Those with knowledge of the typical Housing available for early Holistic admissions, please chime in.
Hullabaloo and Northside Modulars always fill the fastest, as in 1-2 days.

It seems that Hullabaloo ($$$$) and Northside Modulars ($$$ - Clements, Haas, Hobby, Lechner, McFadden, Neely) are the fastest to go. Holistics probably don’t stand a realisitc chance in those then?
That means that a few $ and $$ Halls don’t get subscribed that fast (likely downsides of more people to a bathroom/community bathrooms and less room space equate to less prices and less popularity). These are then the likely choices for a Holistic, unless they are forced to look off-campus. The positive is that these are more affordable, hence likely good for people in a financial pinch.
Can non-Honors students get into Lechner? Even with Honors alone, it tends to get fully subscribed in 1-2 days?
Lechner is held for Honors Academy (beds may open up after Housing selection to anyone, if all HNR Academy students have registered), but Lechner won’t be open during Housing Selection.
Since your student is NMSF and ENG, I suggest Engineering Village! Also strongly suggest applying for ENG HNR (and not Honors Academy). ZERO need to do both, and hands down, the college/major HNR programs are by far the best!

I’m mostly a lurker for now (oldest is a junior, so I’m getting the lay of the land on A&M admissions this year). I went to learn more about the Engineering Village and found this info: The Engineering Village LLC is not available for the 2026-2027 academic year. Many Engineering students live in the Commons or Mosher Hall. If you want to live near other Engineering students, please choose Mosher, Aston, Krueger, or Dunn halls in the Hall Preference phase of the housing application.

@FriscoDad what do you know about Engineering Village not being a thing next year?
Some students who are accepted later, pair up with an auto admit and that person can “pull” them up if rooming together.
EVERYONE stresses about dorms and I have never seen anyone come back on here or those that I work with as freshman, come back and say they hate their dorm life. It all works out. So basically just mitigate the factors that you can and then trust in the process. It’ll be great!
white creek is pricey but a great alternative. Don’t let west campus scare you. Campus is big no matter where you are!

@Christi1993 I know you’ve championed TAMU Galveston as a great alternative. Is there any reason not to apply next week during free application week if my kiddo is interested in 1 yr Galveston and then changing majors as a backup plan?
Definitely cannot hurt and you save money! It’s a win. What major would it be since you mentioned Ag before… maritime business? Cause that’s an amazing program and if they do well, easier transition to Mays or Ag Bus up in Cstat than transfers
and before anyone asks, TAMU will not be of the mindset that… oh wait, we don’t need to admit them because they’re going to Galveston. I’ve had many students get into galv first and then Cstat later.
