DD got admitted to CPEN. TX resident, Auto-admit, NMSF.

We paid our phase 1 deposit. Is the phase 1 deposit day that determines housing allocation priority?

Congrats! Yes, time stamp housing deposit is paid is what gets her in the dorm selection queue.

I would think Holistic decisions may start coming out over the next couple of weeks.

Please be sure to let us know when you start hearing AND provide stats to help those still waiting (and let’s us know how TAMU is rolling out these decisions).

I keep checking back here to see if any holistic admits have been announced. It is sooooo quiet.

I spoke with an admissions rep that said there should not be a change in when acceptances come out vs. in years past –specifically referring to engineering previously promised by Oct 15. I am curious to see how that plays out.

My DD is holistic, first quarter, 31 ACT, AP Chem, AP Comp Sci, Python, Honors Engineering, non-ranking college prep private school, applying for engineering. We expect to hear between January - February. But holding out hope. . .

Sounds like a strong candidate! Should at minimum get options for TEAB or Galveston.

Out of curiosity, my son has a a 1340 SAT, at non-ranking college prep, applying for business (accounting). He has taken the following classes thru his Jr year: AP World History, AC Algebra/Trig, AP US History, AC English, AP Pre-Cal, AP Stat, AP Physics & AP Econ with a 4.08 weighted GPA. He’s also enrolled currently in AP Calculus, AP Environment Science, AP Gov, & AP Phychology in his Sr. year. 4 years of football/track and a few years of club baseball, and other clubs.

He’s definitely holistic, but are these high enough to hear now, or is this likely a December/January timetable?

Not sure how much they take into consideration, but multiple other family members are alumni, including one parent, with his sister in her third year at A&M.

Thank you.

Hey there. What quarter did Tamu assign him? The score isn’t high enough, based on prior cycles, to hear back in the fall. Now there are always outliers but rare. Mays fills up in November. What’s his second choice? If wanting accounting, I’d have a solid backup school like Arkansas or Tech. So many good schools for business in and outside of Texas.

if he’s open to other majors, then there’s a decent chance he hears good news after the new year. truly is going to depend on the competitiveness of this group of applicants, which we will get a glimpse of when the first round of holistics get their decision

Hoping for the best for your kiddo, just want you to be open to other options. And sadly, they do not give any bonus points for family alumni.

His second choice is Economics in the Liberal Arts.

It says 1st quarter. CLASS RANK (1st Quarter)

That’s perfect. Great major and good for people who love numbers

Where did he see the assigned class rank? My son goes to a non ranking public school, but in Howdy he just sees: Texas A&M University - Fall 2026, Application Status: Under Review, Level: Undergraduate, Major: BUAD - Business Administration, Program: BAC-BUAD, Location: College Station

For those with acceptance already, the 2026 orientation dates are open for registration. You will see the options available for the major and can register (and pay) through AIS.

Still no decision as of this morning. DS stats:

Applied 8/1 via Common App
SAT 1530
TAMU ranked top 25%
Major: Mays
All honors, AP, DC, extra curriculars and essays are excellent.

So hoping to hear this week. Have any non-top 10% heard?

Great Score!!!

I haven’t heard of any holistic decisions yet. I’m pretty sure your kiddo will get in first holistic round.

Thank you! I hope so  Anticipation is killing me.

I heard in a different reddit group that someone with 1520 SAT holistic non-top 10% got into Mays on Oct 2nd. He was very close to top 10% and had lots of internships and solid ECs. We are waiting for my DS too with 1480 SAT and top 25% just like everyone else. Hope they get to us soon!!

Really? 7 tabs in Howdy or official acceptance letter?
