Texas A&M Class of 2030 Official Thread

Did anyone hear anything about Brown scholar yet? My daughter is a NMSF and really hopes she can get Brown scholarship.

Beside NMSF, what are your daughters stats, awards, leadership? Did she submit her Brown application prior to Oct 1?

She submitted her application to A&M on ~10/10 and got accepted to engineering school about 10 days later. She said there’s no seperate application for Brown but she did select to apply for Brown scholarship through common app and completed all the required essays and rec letters etc. Since it’s submitted on common app, I believe the submission date is 10/10 too - would it be a problem? Where is it stated that the application deadline is 10/1? We are OOS and applied some other colleges, but my daughter started liking A&M after she got accepted (she watched a lot videos about A&M on youtube) so she really wants to get the scholarship to make her decision easier. There’s no where for her to check the status and we don’t even know if the application is received by Brown foundation.

Welcome to A&M!

The Brown is easily the most uber elite, competitive scholarship at TAMU. It is FANTASTIC !

We have a Brown Scholar friend who is now a Sr at A&M (Business Honors & Acct/PPA major). In high school, he was- Valedictorian, band drum major, editor of school newspaper, Eagle Scout, heavily involved in church, 100’s+ community service hours, awards galore. He’s basically the model Brown Scholar.

Here are Brown links-

Thanks a lot for the info! Just verified she submitted on 10/12 - 2 days after the preferred date :frowning: but there’s still hope. Brown is a phenomenal opportunity! Hope she can get in.

I have 2 incoming students, public health majors. One heard in Sept, she was top 10%. The other daughter just heard today, she was holistic review. Both applied 8/2

Sounds like they are finally getting back some holistic acceptance back!

It’s probably already been discussed, but I can’t find it in the thread  …How are you being notified about Business Honors Acceptances? In AIS/Howdy or a letter/email? Are the notifications trickling out or have they all been sent? We don’t have a denial. Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving! BTHOtu!!

BH acceptance arrives in the mail-a large envelope. It won’t appear in portal. Denial letter will arrive…but probs not until February, when all acceptances have been sent out.

*unless Top 4% or less, there’s almost a zero chance at BH; as well as over-the-top community service, leadership & awards.

We’ve got a good shot so fingers crossed

Is it always this quiet before January or does it feel like fewer holistic decisions are being released compared to the past few years?

this group is much quieter than prior years, so not sure what’s going on with holistic admittance. there should be one more round of admissions before the break.

What do we know about the school of Architecture holistic admits, for architecture not landscape or construction science? It’s hard to find much stats wise.

is there a particular day that decisions are usually released?

Howdy! My daughter put Psyc as first choice and has not heard anything. She goes to a small/private school in Bryan (23 seniors), and many of her classmates with other majors have already heard back. She applied early August, holistic route. Thoughts? Needless to say- we are feeling a bit anxious :face_with_peeking_eye:

Very small department. What are stats?

Allen/st Jo’s or Brazos Christian?

If that small of school would seem the students that have heard must be high scoring.

What are your kiddos stats? I know the wait is hard.

Thx for the quick reply. St. Joe’s- 3.75 GPA, active in extracurricular sports for 4 yrs, honors english for 4 yrs, NHS, school clubs.
