My daughter applied using Common App last year on 8/1 and it took a little over a week to get her UIN (exact date is likely in last year’s thread) so I’m sure you’ll get yours next week. Apply Texas folks were getting their UINs earlier but they weren’t getting admitted any sooner so it all evened out because the first wave of admittance wasn’t until 9/12 and the housing portal opened on 9/13.
Thank you!!
Noted. She is about to hit submit! Very exciting.
One week after submitting on Common App and still no AIS number
Hoping we get an email today.
Still nothing here
TAMU website said mid-August.
Oh, thank you. I wonder if they process in the order they were received.
I have heard they do. There is a time stamp on all applications.
We just attended a Zoom call with the Business School and they said they are still waiting on Commonapp and that this will not impact acceptances with ApplyTexas applications already being downloaded. They said the University will accept the applicants and then hand over each application to the first choice major school for final acceptance. They are expecting Commonapp to download any minute now so they encouraged us to stay close to our email and frequently check spam folder.
They also said the business school is targeting the first wave of acceptances to go out at the beginning of October… so late
OK! That is great to hear. Thank you. Do you mind me asking about the zoom call? Private invitation or something we missed to prospective students?
I wish she had done Apply Texas. I wonder if it will affect dorm availability.
I think my son knew about Mays acceptance by September a few years ago. I have already forgotten dates!
DD was invited through email and registered for the session. There were 95 HS seniors on the Zoom. I believe DD connected with Mays somehow to receive future information.
That is great! Well done to your DD on being proactive! Is A&M her first choice?
Yes
Date of acceptance, not application, will determine when they can apply for housing. When they complete phase 1 of housing application and pay the deposit, that is when the time stamp happens for actual dorm selection (that will be late April or May).
So, now that there is a new Howdy Portal format, the old 7 tab trick as an indicator of upcoming university admission won’t work anymore. However, it is not being reported that having a section for “Tuition/Fees Details” pop up is the new indicator. I don’t know how true this is but it being talked about on one of the Aggie Parents FB pages. Good luck to all the new applicants.
I wonder if that also means that ApplyTexas apps that downloaded faster, even if submitted later, will get their acceptances sooner? As an auto-admit, DD’s urgency to apply was (1) to get her major and (2) to get her dorm selection. It is frustrating because the A&M website was unambiguous in prioritizing common app as the preferred method. But it seems that may be penalized.
“Prospective students should apply using the Common App. Students may also apply through ApplyTexas. The application you choose will not affect your admission decision. Only one application per student.”
I don’t know if students will get accepted earlier if they applied through Apply Texas. However, last year there were issues with Apply Texas website, so Common App applications were processed quicker.
