Texas A&M Class of 2030 Official Thread

Last year my son applied with Apply Texas and did have a few glitches but he was auto-admit and got his official university admission with the first batch on September 12th.

I don’t know how you’re taking it that they’re being penalized. No one is getting admitted right now. It’ll be in September. All will be equal. Mays doesn’t fill up till late October/November. Even non auto admits will get into Mays.

Housing is time stamped on what I said above. No holistic students will get in before auto admits that apply in August. Never happens.

I was concerned that the Apply Texas application might have been the better way to go. DD is applying to several schools and since A&M recommended it, that’s what she chose. Second-guessing a bit. The demand is so high that time feels really of the essence!

When do Engineering major’s non-top10% start hearing about acceptances?

If you apply by the October 15th deadline, then you’ll either get your acceptance after that or deferred til beginning of year. Auto admits will be accepted to Tamu then pending review for general engineering major. Same time line for actual engineering but autos hear back about Tamu earlier.

She’s early. No worries! She’s sitting pretty good. @52AG82 can give you details about the business honors but from what I remember, they won’t know that til January or February. But they’ll be admitted to Mays in September so at that point you’ll do housing.

Take a breath Mama. There’s much to stress about later. For now, sit and wait. :hugs:

Perspective for you.. Aggies are heading to Aggieland, whether returning or as a freshman. For those freshman, they were in your same situation this time last year. The stress, the anxiety, the questions and all the other feels this year brings. Now, they’re moving into their dorms/apartments and beginning their college journey.

This will be all of you next year. It may be here as an Aggie or Blinn student, Galveston (also as an Aggie) or any of the other amazing schools out there. it WILL work out. Trust the process, trust your student and enjoy this blessed year, because it’ll be over in a blink.

So true! My Aggie is starting her senior year! She has had many amazing experiences at A & M these past few years. It’s amazing to see how they grow and develop. My Aggie was a late bloomer. She did well academically in high school but as far as clubs she was in a few but no leadership positions. At A&M she joined a club in her major and ran for office the first year but didn’t get it, she was active in the club and ran and got secretary the second and third year and now her senior year she is the club president. She was also an officer in the annual game jam and is an officer for the industry fair this year. So many great opportunities. Now she is planning to apply to grad school and get her MFA and we just bought a condo for her to live in with roommates and another to Airbnb. Now we have a guaranteed place to stay for her graduation weekend. College Station has become her home.
My high school senior has a different path as a nursing major he is going elsewhere and that is fine. There are many paths.
