Texas A&M Class of 2030 Official Thread

Same situation. Daughter chose team only 4 weeks ago. Waiting impatiently for an update! What is your daughter’s major?

It’s feeling like a train wreck in never-ending slo-mo. I read where Admissions is telling people who had the “a decision has been made” update to keep checking AIS and they will know by March. I honestly think the people who got that message earlier this week will hear something tomorrow though. If nothing else, surely they’re tired of fielding the calls/emails wondering what in the heck is going on.

Surely the people who were offered the Options will all get Team if they selected it! That would be so wrong if they didn’t. I hope you all hear back soon!

Biology. How about yours? Praying for them both!

Public health. Hoping we both hear good news soon!

Yes! A&M was my son’s first choice. Tonight he told me he wished he never applied. The stress has been just too much for him.

We had a similar discussion here tonight. I have one in and the other one received the ominous “A decision has been made in AIS”. We were talking about how the school they’re both leaning toward makes them feel very wanted. Wishing the best for everyone still waiting!

My son got the same options. Chose TEAM only. Very frustrating to wait an entire month and still know nothing and continue to wonder, wait and stress about housing. As a former student, I’m very disappointed in my school and this admission season and how it was handled. There has to be a better way. Stringing everyone along is not what a “world class university” should be doing. Not to mention giving zero communication to these prospective students after waiting over 6 months. :frowning:

Has anyone that got the “blue link” been admitted?

Same for my son! I agree! There’s got to be a better way. He applied Aug 1…ugh.

Got the blue ink….it is PSA. Found out today.

He received PSA today which he is not even eligible for. Doesn’t make much sense to even offer when he can’t do it according to their own criteria. So really its a rejection. Lots of other choices. We are disappointed but know A&M was always a long shot for him. Here’s his stats for future students to reference.

Texas Resident

Animal Science major

Top 14% but school does not rank outside of top 10%

3.9 unweighted

4.9 weighted

9 AP classes (including AP Calc BC, Physics and Environmental Science) Passed all AP tests with 4 or higher.

60 dual credit hours with a 3.95GPA (one B in Stats). AS degree earned in December 2025

1270 SAT (This was his weak link (holistic? or based solely on SAT?)

2.5 Years working at a Vet Clinic (Small animal and Exotic)

300 hours shadowing a DVM

4 years volunteering for a nonprofit animal rescue with over 500 documented volunteer hours

4 Years of Band with two years of leadership and 3 years of 5A State Finalist placement.

Waiting on UC Davis

I’m so sorry. With those stats, I wouldn’t think TAMU would be a long shot. He’s going to thrive wherever he goes. He sounds like he has a great work ethic and a drive to succeed.

I’m a TTU alum. I really enjoyed my time there. Lubbock gets a bad rap, but I still can’t figure out why! People are nice, living is generally affordable, no traffic. Just my POV for his discernment!

Best of luck to yall. I’m sorry about TAMU. It has felt unduly stressful waiting. My daughter has gotten into every school she’s applied to, including some low acceptance private institutions. I remind her that if she’s not accepted into TAMU, it’s not because she’s not qualified, it’s due to circumstances beyond her control with admissions this year. I hope your son feels that deeply in his heart, too.

@DFloydTX i am so sorry. Your son sounds fantastic, and I know he’ll THRIVE at any of the other schools!

I’m going to guess the 1270 + Associates degree is what kept him from getting full acceptance- SAT just not competitive enough (compared to other students also applying for Animal Science) and 60+ hours knocks him out of TEAM. Did A&M rank him 1st or 2nd quarter? Associates degrees can be good, but they can also impact negatively.

I KNOW your son will excel wherever he decides to attend! He’s got a bright future, for sure!

So Howdy says check AIS for decision–no 7 tabs–AIS still says in review with change major button. Does this mean PSA?

Could you share what day the application was complete and in review? Maybe it just filled up early?

If ‘change major’ has disappeared from Howdy, then it will be PSA.

Here was my daughters timeline:

Monday - howdy portal showed decision in AIS

Tuesday - change major option disappeared

Thursday - PSA offer showed up

Good luck to everyone waiting!

I totally hear your frustration. Tamu does a really good job of being upfront about the timeline. They say most holistic students will hear in Feb and March. I believe and was guilty of this too… that social media and forums gives us the false hope of quick decisions, not tamu.

Hang in there.

We are in exact same boat and the wait has been excruciating!
