Texas A&M Class of 2030 Official Thread

We received the “Application Acknowledgement” email with the UIN yesterday at 12:31 pm (also 8/1 commonapp applicant) from application@tamu.edu… maybe search for this title or email address?

Well, I guess I ran out of patience about 30 minutes early. He got the acknowledgment email just a bit after I posted! Now to check a couple of boxes, and then settle in to wait for a long time…

Another Homeschooler question related to this new HB 3041 bill.

I can see the median scores TAMU used from the 2024 application cycle by looking at the Admissions & Placement Test Scores data published in TAMU’s accountability website.

My question is how quickly after this year’s application deadline do they update the data on that page with this new cycle applicants.

My daughter is a Homeschooled Junior and will be applying next August 2026. She is prepping for the SAT now and it would be nice to know that median score she needs to shoot for (based on current cycle applicants).

That’s a great question and since it’s “new”, I’m unsure what the deadline is for Texas schools to post this score. I would say it’s safe to say by August 1st, lol, but that won’t help students in terms of what to shoot for. 1290 is definitely doable.

In the past they had academic admit where you had to be top 25% AND score a 1360 (I believe) or a 30 on the ACT. They did away with that around 2017. So seeing a 1290 for home school students seems low, but I know TAMU knows what it’s doing and these students will be ready to tackle the rigor of TAMU.

Thanks for the reply Christi! After I asked I did some research and found they post scores and update those accountability websites after the census in the fall. So around November 15th the data is updated.

Oh that’s great news. I’ll keep an eye out for that. Thank you for your research. It takes all of us to share our resources!

Did your child send in a transcript before a class rank appeared? Did the class rank just fill in as his application was processed? My understanding has been that we should wait to send a transcript until after admission, but I think those planning for top 10% based on traditional class rank need to send a transcript prior to that. I’m just not sure since we are relying on class rank assignment based on test scores if they will be waiting for a transcript. Thanks for any advice!

Our application is showing they have the top 10% yet still asking for a transcript to verify top ten ranking. Our school counselor has never seen this before so might be a new thing as in years prior, the SRARS/STARS report served this purpose. Are you showing the same thing?

My son is auto-admit with 7 tabs in Howdy! Has anyone heard when Engineering will begin accepting students this year? I believe they did away with the Oct 15th deadline. Thanks and good luck to everyone!

As far as I can remember, they always ask for top 10% designated students to send in transcript for verification.

On ours we have not seen the request for transcript yet.

When my daughter set up her account on the 19th, I had her use the AIS upload feature to send in her transcript. As of this morning, her application is complete and in review.

Ok! I’ll have her upload her unofficial transcript under the documents section. That area says only “official” transcripts are accepted and our school is the only one who can provide such a thing directly to the university. Worth a try while we wait on our high school. Thank you!

What does the 7 tabs look like? Howdy looks different from when my 2024 DD applied.

7 tabs/categories on the left side of the screen. Overview is the one that will show admitted.

When my oldest applied two years ago, A&M hadn’t received her transcript even though her high school insisted they’d sent it. She reached out to Aggie One Stop, and they told her to upload it herself, and that did the trick. Good luck!

Just wondering, does her transcript have an ‘unofficial’ watermark on it? Thanks.

Yes

I understand the meaning of the 7 tabs as a sign of acceptance, but on the main page does it still showing ‘Complete and In Review’ or ‘Admitted’?

There’s no watermark on her transcript. She downloaded it directly from Skyward, the same way her counselor would.
