Does not say admitted yet. Still in review per application management (however overview says admitted with estimated grad date). AIS still says in review too. “your account is not in the housing system.” But will update and keep trying. Hopefully one of us soon will see a full admittance. Can’t wait to get the ball rolling!
Congrats to those with 7 tabs, whoop!
Trying to remember the details but a couple of years ago the first round of official admits was 9/12 or 9/13 (I forget) and housing opened the very next day so all the new admits could log in and put down a deposit. Official acceptance shows up in AIS right when they log in along with an official acceptance letter in the “my letters” tab in AIS. Howdy “whoop you’ve been admitted” is a sometime after and banner in the mail 2-6 weeks later.
Somebody talk me down. Son applied 8/1 and still have a red x on class rank - BUT he checked ‘homeschooled’ in STARS and submitted then came over to AIS where it says you have to indicate class rank in STARS for AIS or ‘processing will be delayed.’ He’s auto admit by test score and wants business. I’m just worried about how long it will say ‘application not complete’
I would have him call to double check and make sure there’s nothing he needs to do. Always frame it as you’re wanting to provide the work and info vs asking why it’s not showing complete. Not that you would. Lol
Also, a lot of student workers answer the phone so he may not get far. He can ask to speak with someone else.
Did you put non ranking school in STARS?
He did. Bc it was either a rank or ‘homeschooled’ and he’s homeschooled. But AIS reads like that was the wrong thing to do?
Thanks @Christi1993 We’ll call tomorrow. We did send a question through 4 days ago and they just said ‘your documents are being processed everyone who is top 10% will need an official transcript’ but…his transcript was already in ‘received documents’ ![]()
Will the housing tab show up in Howdy at some point while in engineering review? I don’t see anything like that now. Thank you so much for answering such detailed questions that I didn’t know I would have till the process really got going! Hopefully they’ll help other people down the line too.
Yes. You will see a housing tab. Should already see in on the main page. It just may not open yet.
And you are welcome. There will be so many questions. You are not alone.
I’m so glad you said it should be there because that made me dig around until I found it. FYI for others, you can use search to find the housing tab in Howdy or can select “Show All” to find it and many, many other tabs—and you can favorite it so that it’s at the top of your homepage next time. When I did get to the right place, it said “your account is not in the housing system” like the poster above said.
would you share a screen shot of what you are seeing? My homeschooled daughter is also top 10 by test score and did as you did with the STARS. She has a green check on everything except the rank. This is how hers looks. She is also applying to Business.
Homeschoolers just have to wait longer for A&M to rank them. Don’t worry! My friend’s homeschooled son got into Mays by Sept 11 last year and he was Top 10! My son got into Mays by 9/19 before the homeschool law was in place in 2024! We just have to wait longer!
A&M has to look over the test scores manually, I believe. Let us know if something changed this year!
She has all green checks and 7 tabs in Howdy! Whoop!
Whoop and congrats
I think today was the day for my youngest:
8/1 applied and submitted CommonApp
8/14 he got the link for AIS, but we were taking oldest back to UT lol
8/15 linked SARS, uploded transcript, submitted. top two showed Xs
8/17 one X disappeared, still waiting on them to process transcript
8/20 finally shows all green in AIS, and despite now saying “application under review” getting the overview and more tabs in HOWDY showing same screenshot as Aero posted 3 days ago as Mays!
He is an auto, but worked his butt off last year to get back into Top 10% in a school where I think every Top 10% kid just takes all APs.
Loves Accounting (finished in top ten nationally at a business competition for it), and not a big fan of Austin, so Mays might be a great fit, and hope it’s official before we do a full tour of campus (and football game!) in October.
I know it’s not “official” but it is official lol. Congrats!! And welcome to Aggieland.
Curious, if anyone knows: Texas A&M does not consider demonstrated interest per their CDS. There is a section of the app titled “TAMU Interest.” Is the Interest section merely a marketing survey, or might the responses have significance for an individual applicant’s likelihood of enrolling, such as via a yield algorithm?
In CDS, First time, First Year, under section C6-C7 it states clearly those are not being used.
Note that the top table (Academic factors) determines over 95% of the outcome. And note that “Rigor of secondary school record” was added few years back so taking a lot of AP and IB do have an important admission role. So don’t take the large bottom table (non-academic factors) seriously.
My Son got in with a 1320 two years ago and has done fantastic. He was not in top 10%. Sending positive vibes your way.
Here we are.. waiting to hopefully see that beautiful “Howdy” on AIS.
If housing opens around 9/12.. IF… do we think it’s most likely “official things” may start going out next week?
That is the hope. But truly everyone who has received the indicator in howdy portal is in the same boat. You will all have access to housing at the same time.
