Congrats!! So exciting!

Thank you! He had all A’s in all his AP classes - he reported all his AP scores that were 3-5s, but I can’t remember how many scores he self reported, enough that he earned AP Scholar. Just wondering if anyone else had similar stats (class rank-wise) and heard back in the fall. It’s already getting hard to wait and it’s only Sept 1st! :joy:

Awesome. My son just got his checkmark and 7 tabs today also! And Mays Business! He’s excited.

Here’s my son’s timeline from 2 years ago in case it helps. He was holistic review; at the start of his senior year these were his stats:

59/494 rank

3.94 unweighted GPA

1270 SAT

Scholar with Honor for AP exams

3rd place state UIW winner in 3D animation

Tennis team, ECs, volunteer hrs, etc

He applied for College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts. His heart was set on being their Visualization program which receives ~500 applications and only accepts ~110 students coming freshmen each Fall (and half are top 10% kids).

Thursday 8/8 Submitted CA to TAMU

Tuesday 8/13 Downloaded by TAMU

Tuesday 8/13 Received netID email

Wednesday 8/14 Logged in to AIS

Wednesday 8/15 Linked SRAR

Thursday 8/16 SRAR sent to TAMU

Tuesday 8/20 Freshman Application received by TAMU

Friday 9/13 Official HS Transcript received in AIS

Wednesday 9/18 2 Letters of recommendation received in AIS

Wednesday 10/23 - Seven (7) tabs appear in Howdy portal

He’s just started his sophomore year as an Aggie and has been loving it! (And he did make it in to their Visualization program and is thriving there!)

Good luck - I remember how agonizing the waiting and not knowing was.

That is great info. Thank you for sharing. Almost identical to the student in question! That is reassuring!

I’m sorry if I missed this, but when do auto admit engineering applicants start to get decisions?

Last year it was around the beginning of October. That was for an auto admit who was also a nmsf.

Kiddo just got university honors email to set up that portal (still nothing “official” in AIS). He’s still really hoping for Mayes honors but we realize this is a super long shot. Could that mean something official from Mays soon? Still showing mays in AIS as first choice and in overview in Howdy. Thanks!

Also, if he completes this application.. will that have any bearing positively or negatively on his business honors opportunity?

Do you find the university honors to be worth it?

My daughter got the same email today too. My daughter isn’t auto admit so I’m not sure what the right move is.

I know one of the pros are priority registration. My student isn’t really interested in living in the honors hall. (And honestly-prob a little more than my pocketbook wanted to spend anyway on housing). I’m curious to see what the experienced parents will say though.

Mays Honors is very worth it and distinguished! @52AG82 can weigh in on this for sure. University honors probably isn’t worth it but major specific is.

Thank you! I knew Mays would be worth it, but was unsure on the university honors. Seems to have not great feedback online.

The wait is killing us over here. I went back and looked at last years thread.. looks like we are getting this email a day apart from when they did so maybe that means official things will start rolling out end of next week if that tracks. I sure hope so! lol

I’m guessing official admittance for first round will come out next Thursday, 9/10. But we shall see… Here’s to hoping! :crossed_fingers::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Oh i thought you were asking about Mays honors not university honors. Sorry about that. You’re thoughts are correct.

Do we have any idea about how often AIS is updated? Could it be any time of day, any day of the week?

AIS has typically been in the morning around 7. Howdy updates all day with their tabs, etc. As for day of the week… Tuesdays and Fridays have been popular in the past but honestly we never know year to year. Helpful, right? lol

My daughter’s 2 homeschool Top 10 friends heard back on Tuesday and she still hasn’t heard. Same college, better score, but connected STARS about 12 hours after they did. Ugh- was hoping she’d find out before her bday tomorrow after the friends heard back on Tuesday. Got my hopes up too soon!
