No personal experience, but I’ve read around five days.
All of my friends who have had kids the last two years can’t believe we were able to pay before getting acceptance letter. They said “are you sure you are looking in the right spot?” I said all of our people are in the same boat lol so I think so!

So I chatted with an agent from res life.. I explained the situation and she checked his account with UIN. “From what I can tell it seems like there was no error and his app is valid. I would guess AIS just has a lot of traffic this week and is slow because of it. Congratulations to him!”

So they seemed fine with you going ahead with Phase 1 without official acceptance? This hasn’t happened before, so i’m nervous to have him pay without the official word.
I started getting nervous too that it may mess something up, that’s why I reached out. They seemed fine with it and basically said should not be able to register and definitely not pay without an acceptance. I got the feeling ais just has not caught up. Holding off on celebrating though until the portal shows it, but I do feel better knowing the housing app is valid and spot is secured. I’d say pay if it will allow you!

Seems like their systems aren’t very well synced. Someone probably said acceptances are going out today, so open up housing for this batch of students at the same time. Well housing took care of their part!

Did anyone choose an LLC in the housing application? We said YES and chose Leadership LLC, but I’m having a hard time finding any real inforamtion about it other than what’s on TAMU’s website which seems vague.
Thanks to everyone who was on here this morning and gave the update that the housing portal was somehow open even before official notifications updated in AIS!!! We were able to log in and sign the contract and pay the deposit as well! 
And now it looks like AIS has finally updated and my daughter has received the message, “You’ve Been Admitted!” Yay!!! We’re all so excited!!

Congratulations to all who made it official today! AIS gave my son all the fanfare for acceptance…Except not because you’re still in engineering review. He got the official acceptance letter, “Welcome to the Aggie Family!,” “You’ve been admitted!” etc. But, alas, nothing has actually changed because you’re still in engineering review. What a strange system.

Oh I don’t know anything about the honor program. 
This is all outstanding and unprecedented! Whoop. We have never seen housing app before official and can’t say in 12 years we have seen AIS update during the day. Mind blown. BUT… so excited for everyone to get the official word!
For those that did housing, be sure phase 1 completed and money paid. Phase 2 is no biggie. Phase 1 decides room pick date and time. So noone stress over the next phases. Pinky promise!
So now that all autos are in and exhaling, please continue to circle back for our holistics who need encouragement!!

We did too. Did the medical one. It’s just information, you’re not committing to the LLC. As I understand it is just a dorm for kids with similiar interests.

I do know kid’s friend (barely outside of top 10%) did get accepted yesterday. Definitely not Mays or Engineering of course. I’ll have to ask what her major was listed as, but just wanted to tell others to keep an eye out especially if not looking for super competitive majors.
