Yesterday I saw somewhere (Reddit?) that top 10% is actually top 10.4%, which I had not heard before. I know Reddit is to be taken with a grain of salt. Has anyone else heard that?
Any tips or advice on hall preferences, White Creek Apartments, and LLCs for a Mays student? Thanks
This makes since for friend that was admitted just barely outside top 10%.
Niece (class of 26) stayed at white creek and loved it! She was a Mays grad.
Remind me…. Holistic can still be checking Howdy for early signs of admittance, right? They don’t have to wait for it to say “Admitted” to have a clue, right?
From my son’s experience, yes - he was holistic review and he saw those signs in Howdy just prior to AIS officially changing to “Admitted”

It was just a day’s difference (7 tabs appeared in Howdy on October 23rd and then AIS officially reflected admissions on October 24), but still exciting to see when anything changes in the system! haha
Yes, holistic admissions is the same process as auto. They see the exact same things, but sometimes even faster one tabs appear.
Also… if a student gets in right now as holistic.. and they want Mays, they’ll get Mays. Has nothing to do with competitive. It is about space. Obviously a lot of autos want Mays so by the time majority of holistics are admitted, Mays is full.
Thanks. Two more questions. First, for freshmen in Mays, do you actually have classes in the Mays building, or are classes all over campus?
Second, for Hall and White Creek, is there a rule that only freshmen can live there, or can you stay all four years?
Thanks!
You could have classes in Weiner building depending on what you take of course. Acct 229, bus 101 etc.
You can live on campus all 4 years but they wont want to. It’s more expensive than most apartments and they will get tired of campus living.
Have any holistic applicants been admitted yet? My son applied 8-24 and is electrical engineering, but holistic.
I have seen those that are right at top 10% get admissions, but generally those that are truly holistic, won’t find out til the earliest… October.
My daughter has asked about a single dorm room. Does a freshman realisticly have a chance at a single room?
If they have the first day selection, absolutely they do.
We did her phase 1 Thursday morning before she was admitted on AIS. She completed phase 2 today. Hopefully she has a chance.
Hi! How did you find phase 2? I’m looking all around the housing portal, but don’t see how to complete that. I do see the phase 1 complete portal email (because I started panicking that maybe I didn’t in fact complete it with all the excitement Thursday).
We had the same experience! It is not obvious. Go to their portal and then select the 27/28 housing application (again).
Ah! Thank you!!!![]()
My youngest is a Junior, but come here ever now and then to see what’s going on. Keep hope up. My son got into Mays not a great SAT and just inside 25%. Thriving. I think those wholistic reviewers are pretty smart.
My daughter is out of state and i am seeing the 7 tabs in Howdy overview section . Does that mean she is in. Applied for Mays.
My daughter is out of state is well. Haven’t seen anything yet, however I am not sure what the 7 tabs look like. When did your daughter apply if you don’t mind me asking. Side note, this is so stressful. This is my 3rd kid in college and it is never fun haha.
