Texas A&M Class of 2031 Official Thread

Incredibly helpful. Thanks so much!! Great call on asking students about registration and claiming AP credit. We’ll do that

I have heard this about TO. If he is denied, he may just take a few more classes here at the local community college over the summer and transfer for spring of 2028. After this semester, He will already have all of the classes required for transfer into that major, so he will just take the few core classes he has left and transfer with more hours under his belt. With 41 hours, he will have already completed almost all of his core requirements in high school, but he can scrape up a few more if he has to over the summer and fall, and reapply via the transfer route. We shall see what happens. I wonder if TO admission is even possible at all. Thanks for the encouragement!

I honestly wonder that about TO too. I’m glad you have a back up plan. My friend’s HS son didn’t get in in 2024 with his score. He took classes at Blinn for a year and a half then transferred in.

Ok, so there is no October 15th deadline, thank you for the link.

I think it went away last year officially BUT internally they look at apps for engineering as they come in, so waiting too long, could become a space issue.

His GPA in Dual Credit is fantastic. going TO in top quarter wasn’t a bad idea at all. That score doesn’t demonstrate his obvious aptitude in the course work.

If he were to apply in the fall for spring transfer, be sure he has any required courses completed. AGSM doesn’t have a strict transfer requirement but they do require a math, science and economics to be completed before applying.

Please keep us posted on current application. Hoping the above transfer info is not needed!

Is there any validation that Mays is full? This is unfortunate for auto admit engineering students who would like the option to choose Mays if not admitted to ENGR.

Our son’s HS does not rank students, he is not an auto-admit. We never really noticed anything besides EN being listed in AIS but does it mean anything that EN is listed under college? I tried to post pic or a link but I keep getting an error. It’s the table at the top of the My App Status page in AIS, major & college are both listed.

In general, I’ve heard that you must select Mays as your first choice if you want to be considered because it’s so competitive

Well that is legit and much earlier than prior cycles, if I’m remembering correctly. Thanks for sharong that.

Does he have 7 tabs? In howdy does it show fall 2027 college station?

He will have the 3 courses that they require for transfer and a total of 41 DC hours by the time he graduates, so if not a fall 2027 freshman acceptance, hopefully a spring 2028 transfer acceptance with more credits under his belt. Hopefully it will not be needed, but who knows? Thanks for talking to me. Maybe they will see something in his essay and coursework. I will keep you posted!

He just set up Howdy access, only 3 tabs. Application under review. I am gonna guess he will be waiting a while for an answer.

Hey Christie, when do you think auto-admit engineering will start hearing back more than just like a few really high achieving ones?

With them taking away the Oct 15th deadline, it is hard to say but I would think soon and into November. Bubble applicants will hear in Jan/feb.

Economics and Ag Econ are good alternatives to Mays if it is filled.

Is there a way to get an earlier nsc? A cancellation list or something we can check back on? Scheduled this morning, but wasn’t ideal with his summer mission plans.

We just registered for NSC! Just FYI, I talked to my son, who was a new student orientation leader last year, and he told me all NSCs are only 1 day next year. Check in begins at 7:30 and you’re usually done by 4-5ish.

I saw a reschedule option on my daughter’s account page and in the response email!
