I just want to make sure I understand the situation. Am I right that, as of now, none of the students who have submitted their applications to Texas A&M this year, not even those who submitted on August 1, have received an acknowledgment email from Texas A&M?

Just curious on opinion, if they do a second review for auto admits for Mays, do we think it is more about high school course rigor or essays?
I don’t know enough to have an opinion on mere33’s question. As I expect most of you know, the Common App says: “Early August Applicants: Acknowledgment emails will be sent by September 1.” I hope all of our children get acknowledgement emails sooner, but if everyone who applied in early august gets their acknowledgement email on September 1, does that mean that no applications will have been reviewed in August?
I do not believe in the slightest that there is a second review. If there is space in Mays when you’re accepted, then you will get a spot.
Now… let’s say it is later like October and you have 2 holistics who have been accepted and want Mays and there’s one spot left… then sure, maybe they review/compare.
Auto admits who apply august and sept will get into Mays. Never seen otherwise.

First round of auto admits should be received before sept.
When my class of 2025 applied August 1st, her app was “complete in review” by the second week in August but she still wasn’t officially accepted until 9/12 which was the earliest anyone was admitted and then housing opened the next day. All that to say that even with the later AIS rollouts it may not necessarily impact the timelines of admittance, will be interesting to see!

Was there meant to be a date in September attached to this? I don’t remember hearing about anyone accepted in August, so I just want to be sure!
Lol nope. Just last year, the earliesr acceptance recorded on here was Aug 17th and then more throughout the month. So before September. Hopefully this holds true for this cycle!

Wow August 17! That is crazy early! But can anyone get that without having AIS access?
Friends’ daughters both just got their AIS. They applied 8/3 and 8/4. We applied 8/1 and also received the email!

yep my son got his as well.
Great news! My daughter applied 8/4 but doesn’t have it yet. But see on FB that some who applied 8/6 and 8/11 received it.
This will all be in AIS
