Texas A&M Transfer Spring 2020

Howdy! I applied to College of Education and Human Resource Development as a Human Resource Development transfer for Spring 2020 in the third week of August and my audit was complete on August 20th. Here it is almost the first week of November. Any idea when I’ll hear back?

@aggiehrtrans That is a long time to wait. But I would think you’ll hear back soon. Do you have everything complete as in required courses and strong GPA and a good essay? If so, just take a deep breath and know the decision is coming!

hi @AggieMomhelp ! I have a few questions but I’m unable to message you directly. I’m pretty sure it’s because I’m a new member.

I have all of the above; in my essay I mentioned why I wanted this degree & why I felt I was ready to start my future at Texas A&M

Update 10/31: I have 6 tabs in my HOWDY: Home, Applicant, My Record, My Finances, Student Life, and MyHowdy, but my AIS hasn’t updated. What does this mean?

It means you have been accepted. Check in AIS under communications for your letter. AIS should update today or tomorrow. Congrats!!!

Howdy! So my situation is quite odd. I applied as a Biology (B.A.) and I received transfer audit on 10/19. According to the audit my GPA is a 3.4. In my first year of college I took my science classes (General Biology and Chemistry) at the University of North Texas and my other classes at my local community college. Now, I am attending classes at Stephen F. Austin State University. Unfortunately, this school is not what I thought it would be. And I spent some time with my good friends who go there and realized I made the wrong decision. Recently my AIS went from Biology to my second choice major, Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. I think this is probably because I am missing Calculus I. So my questions are what are my chances of being accepted? If I am accepted is it possible to change majors right away or do you have to wait? Thank you guys!

And how long does it typically take to get accepted? I forgot to add that I was accepted into the Engineering school as a Biomedical Engineering Major out of high school. I don’t know if that helps but any advice is great!

@Strider24 once it changes to your second choice it means you have been denied by first choice. I know you probably know this. When you start Tamu as a fish or transfer, every major has some sort of parameter before you can change majors. You have to meet those in order to even apply to change. There’s Tamu hours, certain courseS and of course Tamu gpa. They will not let you change right away as a transfer. And then some major have a limit on max hours. So if over 60 credits, you can’t change into that major (this is a general example not for a certain major). Be careful coming in thinking you can change easily.

Alright, thank you for the help! Hopefully I’ll hear back soon.

My howdy portal has 6 tabs in it, and from looking earlier that might be a good sign. Is this usually true? Thank you!

@Strider24 um whoop. Yes you’re in! Congrats!!!

Thanks!

Howdy friends! My names Keston I’m an Econ major with a second choice of liberal arts. My Gpa is a 3.3 and I have somewhere in the 40s as far as transferable credits go. I was wondering if anyone knew my chances. Honestly I’ve been really anxious about it, A&M is my dream school. I think I wrote a pretty solid essay but I’m still worried! Should I be prepping my self for disappoint? I’m also a reap. I got denied in the spring but I have since changed my major.

Actually I just checked my transfer audit and I have a 2.64 gpa. Which really discouraged me. Lol

I just now checked this morning and got 6 tabs for Electrical Engineering with 55 credits and 3.85 GPA!!!

Since this crew is already through the application process for Spring can anyone tell me if TAMU retains any old information such as Dual Credit college transcripts in your file or do you need to resend?

Also, did anyone send latest transcripts before applying? I saw that they “recommend” not sending them until after you apply but since my DD is applying for Fall the schools will be on break from mid-Dec until 2nd week in Jan so would prefer not to wait as long as they actually get them and put them in the file.

@AggieMomhelp Howdy I am a second semester freshman at Blinn with a 3.52 GPA and 25 hours of credit (not including spring semester credits) i just checked my application on AIS and had a Transfer Audit box under “Complete and in review” I applied to transfer as soon as transfer apps opened on January and am trying to get into Construction Science. Any idea on when I should hear back and what my chances are? Also how should I view the Transfer Audit? Do I need to take any action or does it mean anything? Please help!

@AggieMomhelp Howdy! I applied to A&M as a transfer for Spring 2020 from Lone Star with 15 credits and I will have 31 credits by the end of the fall semester. I applied for Psychology with currently a 3.6 GPA and I think I wrote a pretty solid essay. Does anyone know my chances of getting in? I’m pretty nervous about receiving my decision, so if anyone could give me any tips, what to expect, or anything else I could do to further strengthen my application, I would really really appreciate it!

@htxg123 Your GPA is solid but my hesitation in giving you a response is that you don’t have the 24 completed graded credits at time of application. Where did the 15 credits come from? Dual Credit? Summer school after graduation? Do you have the required transfer credits for Psych completed in those 15 credits? Eng, math and pysc?
