Texas State University?

finally this thread has become interesting!

You all just missed the good sales anyway. You have failed because you are completely off task!

Would you all go over to the “Mall Visits” section and post a report of your outlet mall visits?

The cousin of my brother-in-law’s next door neighbor used to shop at Green Hills Mall in TN but says he now actually prefers the San Marcos outlets. I’ll ask him to send a pm

Stop it! You all have me laughing too hard! My only experience with the San Marcos outlets is that when I visit my parents in Austin, my mom and sister always drag me there. Ack. They are World Class Shoppers, and I’m a geeky engineer. It’s quite sad.

MaineLonghorn- Don’t you think the outlet mall is a fit for a geeky engineer? Just because it wasn’t right for YOU doesn’t mean you can judge for someone else.

Agree with those who recommend the boutiques, which would be a better choice for a geeky engineer who will need more handholding to get the best possible shopping experience. Those big outlet malls can be impersonal, though they do offer many many different options.

MaineLonghorn, if you want to stay in state, LLBean has an excellent reputation nationwide.

My neighbor’s D is an international. Any chance she would be offered duty free shopping?

MaineLonghorn,
I would recommend you make appointment to meet with the manager of LLBean and Coach to see which would be a better fit for you.

Lonestarmom-
HAHAHAHAHAHAA!! Just sprayed the computer!! That was priceless!!!

Well, I’ve read through this entire thread and I want to get back to talking about Rice. I am offended about the comments concerning Rice. One of my sons has applied to Rice and I think he may be one of those “trust fund kids” the OP has referred to. I “trust” he’ll have the “funds” to go if he is lucky enough to be accepted. (Ba dum ching!)
Edit: Sorry, I wanted to play, too.

MaineLonghorn- Have your father make the appointment with LLBean and Coach and go with you since he’s a professor.

If you have a car at Rice you can get to the San Marcos outlet mall and eat some good Texas barbecue while you are up there. If you don’t have a car, you could hitch a ride with some of those people who live in the crowded million dollar houses around Rice. They go up there to buy shirts at the Polo outlet.

There are some really excellent Outlet Malls in the Midwest that are often overlooked.

MOWC, my dad likes LLBean too much - I don’t think he would agree to go to Coach with me.

Midwestmom
Do they offer automatic 20% discounts to NMFs?

And whild you shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth, I think you could have done better.

Phew… glad this thread is back to HAPPY!!! (And you notice that I NEVER mentioned where my kids go to school…very restrained, aren’t I?   ;)

We wouldn’t want to rat you out, anxiousmom. Do you still stay at the Best Western on Main St near the Houston Medical center when you visit your kids on campus??

lol, jym. You’re a true friend.

Target delivers darn good value, despite the crowded facilities and high employee to shopper ratio. Why do you need the esclusivity of the outlet malls, anyway?

lolllllllll
