Thanksgiving Travel Thread: Weather affecting your travel??

CT gets plenty of snow…depending on where you are. Look for a used Forester. They are great. The Outback is very pricey. An impreza sedan is also a good choice.

Weather in CT…temps dropping like a rock! But no precipitation!

We bought our son a used Outback to take to school in Maine. It’s a tank, but very good in snow.

Son made it home fine from Rochester this morning. We had mostly rain in SW PA instead of snow. I have driven Subarus for 23 years, and won’t get anything w/o all wheel drive on the Pittsburgh hills! I have an Outback, which has grown considerably in size over the years, we have an Impreza that the kids drove.

My son got 89" inches of snow (top 13 cities) in a typical Erie, PA winter. His Forester got him through it just fine.

Made it to JFK finally. Very cold and windy, no precip. All this, and I’m so sick I won’t be able to even talk to my kids because it hurts too much. Where’s the wine?

Subarus are great. My H has had several different models. One of our Ds has a Crosstrek and she lives in a city that gets far more snow than any in CT. She loves it!

Sorry, busdriver. :(

Daughters should be arriving in Minneapolis/St. Paul from Philadelphia shortly, about 45 minutes late. Heavy rain in Philly overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning but by early evening it had stopped. I don’t think they had any trouble with their plane which had just flown in from MSP where the weather is clear and cold. But the airport was a bit congested from other delayed flights, which pushed everything back a bit. Minor inconvenience, that’s all.

Thanks, sally. But after two glasses of wine and seeing my sweet youngest son, I actually feel much better and am no longer whispering. Nothing like seeing your kids and some good wine to help the pain!
