Did I miss our annual Grammys thread? If so, dear Mods, please merge/delete this one.

We watched the entire show and actually enjoyed some parts. Did not care for the awful Sarah Bareilles signing (ditto her lace flour sack dress - not impressive!). Taylor Swift, OTOH, was stunning and her performance rocked. Lots of old guys singing, some good, some bad. Ozzie, in his typical Ozzie fashion, messed up his intro of Ringo. … And much more.

I just saw little bits and pieces of it. Pink, with her singing and gymnastic performance, was incredible. I thought she just had to be lip syncing during the parts where she was doing the gymnastics, but I don’t think she was. Unbelievable, how strong, beautiful and what a voice she has. Not so happy when Nate sang off key during “Just Give Me a Reason”,almost the entire time, that was painful listening to him.

Macklemore was classy of course, but I didn’t see his performance. What was with Taylor Swift flipping her hair thing, it was what we used to do when we were 13. I felt like I was watching a little kid, and I don’t think she’s going to stay that popular. Just seemed boring and childish to me. Kind of bored watching the old guys.

Why did “Get Lucky” win Record of the Year? I think there were only seven words in the song, “We’re up all night to get lucky.” I love Pink. I wonder though if she’s trying to promote aerial dancing because she has done it a few times in the past. As for Taylor Swift, not a fan. Sorry.

I liked some of the old guys last night. I thought Ringo Starr’s bit with his ‘All Star’ band was fun. Willie Nelson is still a showman who has his stuff together.

I watched the whole program last night and loved it. I was skeptical pairing “classic” acts with newer ones but thought in most cases it worked. I really enjoyed Chicago and Robin Thicke. Pink was incredible. I too thought she had to have been lip syncing but I don’t think she was either. And agreed re: Taylor Swift and the hair flipping thing. Honey - you are not 13 years old anymore! Very fun to see Paul and Ringo separately and together. I enjoyed hearing new-to-me acts (missing my boys - they keep me up on these things!). All in all, very fun and enjoyable.

I thought Taylor Swift was performing fairly well. Then, when she started flipping her hair, DH and I just began to crack up. Then we began to just really laugh hard. Oh Taylor…why?

I thought some of the older singers were, sadly, just plain awful.

It’s funny how opinions can be so varied. We watched with a group, varied in age and music preferences. We all loved the King/Bareilles duet and all thought the Taylor Swift performance was hilarious. She reminds me of a pre-teen girl who is performing in front of a mirror in her bedroom with a hairbrush standing in for a microphone. Also, was that her mom who was up grooving with her to one of the hip hop songs? Looked pretty silly, when everyone else was in their seat. John Legend, as always, gave a lovely performance. Enjoyed the Paul and Ringo number, and the country ‘boys’. It made me wonder how many of these young guys will still be around when they’re that age, or if anyone will even remember them. My guess is, not many.

We enjoyed the show but were disappointed, once again, with the terrible sound quality. You’d think that a show that is celebrating music would find a venue, or at least good sound engineers, to make the most of the performances.

No one mentioned the Imagine Dragons and Lamar Kendrick mash-up? I thought that was great. Taylor Swift was better than I’ve seen her on many live shows, but only meh for me.

Loved Pink! And Paul McCartney’s new song wasn’t bad.

Did not think the opening act (Beyonce and JayZ) were at all family friendly for the 8:00 hour. Googled the words to that song. I don’t think I’m a prude my any means, but it just struck me as tacky and classless, trying to get attention by being shocking.

Top performances of the night in my opinion:
<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube;

and this was nice. Many people expected Kendrick to take the cake…He definitely gave a performance that said, “This is why I deserved the grammy!” Then Macklemore performed and showed WHY he got the grammy.

I thought Pink’s flying performance stole the show, and I give her two additional thumbs up for choosing not to lip sync after her incredible aerials (she was clearly out of breath but not out of tune). Nate… dude, what was your excuse for singing so badly?!

Pink was nice (not her first time doing her tricks), and her tricks are always a pleasure to see. Nate was off key points…he didn’t have as much energy as I desired for him to have while singing. It was nice to hear a performance that did justice to the song. Lorde…was a bit disappointing; although, that’s how she performs.

I don’t know, Niquii, I guess everyone has different tastes. Sure, those performances had lots of smoke and visuals, but they didn’t do much for me. Second video I shut off after a couple of minutes because it seemed boring. Beyoncé’s performance was pretty sleazy, I think, the words of the song and her booty dance. I never know why she does that, she’s beautiful and talented, and doesn’t have to do the lap dance performance to keep people interested. I was expecting her to start going Miley Cyrus, and she came pretty close.

Everyone does have different tastes. I’m sharing my opinion on it.

As for sleezy…sure. Some can call it sleezy. She’s openly displaying her love life in a song. There’s not much too it. I LOVED her new album, Beyoncé. It’s her bouncing back from her pregnancy, doing what she wants, when she wanted it.

When I saw the opening at first I was afraid it WAS Miley - ugh. I thought for two such talented folks, Beyonce and Jayzee (sp?) could have done much much better. It was sleezy and just not very good.

Loved Taylor Swift and thought she looked gorgeous. Loved Kacey Musgraves. I’ve had her album since it first came out and I’m glad she is getting so much recognition.

I’m sure everyone was watching from the front row, whether fascinated, disgusted, interested or indifferent. Just like they all couldn’t take their eyes of Mileys performance. Macklemore was doing a pretty good job not drooling or licking his lips. I just don’t understand why such talented performers feel they need to do that. Unless, of course, they are just enjoying themselves while some of us go “ick”.

I am going to buy Kacey’s album after her last night’s performance! She deserved her Grammy. Taylor’s Gucci chain mail dress was absolutely perfect on her.

I DIED laughing at the video. Simply golden. (Macklemore’s tan was pretty golden, as well )

Did Beyoncé NEED to do that? No. Did she WANT to do that? Yes. She has done many things under the sun. One second she’s racy, the other she’s classy. If she wants to get “down and dirty” and perform on the stage, go ahead Beyoncé. Do your thing! The people love it. She will always have a fan base. She’s doing something that makes her happy right now. Performing with her husband and reminding the world that she’s “still got it”.

Is Kacey the country singer with the lit cowboy boots? I’m happy Swift didn’t win any Grammy’s this year. (Whoops, did I just say that?)
