Oh and Get Lucky was one of my favorite songs of the year. I love Daft Punk’s performance, thought it brought the house down but I was a bit peeved they won so many awards! lol

I’ve been waiting for this thread. With no kids at home, I’m always at a disadvantage. Now, at least, I can watch my DVR of the Grammies and figure out “who ARE these people?”…

I missed Beyonce, since I hate her singing anyway, no loss. I enjoyed the show more than I expected. I liked Thicke with Chicago. I find Taylor Swift beyond tedious. Lorde is cute and the song is catchy and she’s very endearing. I liked the other country singer who sings about being gay. Going blank on the name. Pink is impressive, though I didn’t think the staging/colors worked as well as her performance last time. I thought Sir Paul was forgettable and Ringo hasn’t got much of a voice. Willy Nelson still going strong, my husband couldn’t believe how old he was, but I’ve seen his albums from the 1950s - I’ve always known he was closer to my parents’ age. I know Kris Kristopherson has Alzheimers, but I thought he was past performing. And I hated having “The highway man” cut off. I never thought I’d say it, but my favorite performers were probably Metallica and the pianist. The robots were fun too - and while the song is dumb, it’s catchy.

“I feared one of the country oldies was going to expire right on the stage and figured that Blake Shelton was singing with them in case someone needed to be carried off mid-song.”

LOL!!! Mr B commented while watching that performance, “When Willie kicks the bucket, he will still be singing out of his grave” We both agreed that Willie sounded pretty darn awesome for a guy of his age. 3)

I didn’t see the show, but a kid from my very small town won a Grammy as part of Snarky Puppy. They are more known for jazz, but got the Grammy for Best R & B performance, accompanying a gal whose name I don’t recognize. I spent my evening watching PBS.

On Twitter, Katy Perry’s performance was getting a lot of good jest from Harry Potter related tweeters. Claims that she was a Belatrix lookalike and was performing with the Dementors. Claimed she must be a Slytherin. Similar quotes about Lourde!!!

Yep, we’re getting old. When we watched this, we said, “Hey, Chicago! But who is the funny-looking guy singing with them?” Oh, it’s Alan Thicke’s son!

I loved Carole King and Sara Bareilis. Loved Chicago and Thicke. Loved Stevie Wonder and whoever he was singing with…all in all, we enjoyed watching the Grammys way more than we ever thought we would!

It is really funny how different people’s opinions are, though…

mathmom, that last quote square on my post above was written about Kristofferson. He is having memory problems, but according to him it is related to past concussions and he can still remember his songs. Not the same as Alzheimer’s, though certainly distressful, I’m sure.
