If you appreciate the eye-rolling graphics of the college promotional pieces bombarding your mailbox, you will find this Buzzfeed photo blog truly hilarious http://www.buzzfeed.com/nathanwpyle/27-worst-things-about-going-to-stock-photo-university
Looking at some of the promotional videos from one of my old schools, you’d think there were spontaneous string quartets continuously popping up on lawns all around campus.
I was in promotional photos for my college way-back-when. The worst one by far was me and another girl with big dumb grins on our faces, our arms around each other’s shoulders, and both holding a bowl of strawberries out to the camera. They used that picture in a brochure for the dining hall for years. Mortifying.
As a consumer of stock photos for book covers and ads, I found this hilarious.
I was on the cover of my grad school dept’s promotional booklet. But no “thumbs up” pose-- just saucy wind-swept hair while purposefully gazing off to the horizon…
Oh my, I laughed so much.
Back in the day (and maybe still?) it seemed there was always a small group of kids sitting in the grass beneath a tree, one of them playing Dylan on his guitar. My roommate’s joke was that they were waiting for a photographer to come along and put them on a brochure.
@WasatchWriter - So funny.
