I raised cattle and got the opportunity to learn a trade and took a course with Curtis Candy Company, yes, they were involved in the trade and I had beautiful Simmental cattle crosses for a while. Good enough?

fun side facts:

My family raised, bred and showed an unusual breed of dog. I was a junior handler. Also was in a newspaper ad, a babysitter, camp counselor, movie extra etc before getting settled in my “real” job.

Have had relatives who invented stuff-- like the “skort”,and one was the first “human dummy” on the vaudeville stage in NYC (ok now, I can hear you snickering out there…) My DH’s relative invented (with some co-workers) the 45 rpm record at RCA.

I (accidentally) told David Copperfield to bite me. Its not really what I said, but its how he took it. Was quite funny, actually.

Every one is so interesting that I hesitate to publish my meager facts, but…

Name: I’m from CT originally and love to cook, so I tried to use Nutmeg but it was taken, so I resorted to Consolation, as in Patrick O’Brian’s Nutmeg of Consolation. (I love Patrick O’Brian.)

CCers I’ve met: none, although I have spoken to jym626 on the phone!

I’ll second that!

Consolation:

Hey, I have that same answer! And if emails count, I know several very cool ladies via that backchannel route.

Name: frazzled is my default setting. I was “frazzled one” on the old CC and couldn’t figure out how to bring that name over to the new version.

Education: BA English from a justifiably no-name school.

Career: grocery store cashier (high school), insurance company clerk (college), medical underwriter (worst one ever), development research officer, SAHM, assistant director of a small non-profit

fun facts: like musicamusica, I too “can watch any movie made between 1935 and 1955 and name every obscure character actor or actress on the screen by sight.” Unlike her, I can neither paint (at all) nor cook especially well. And there’s no profit in being able to tell Walter Connolly from Eugene Pallette. But my husband is very intrigued that I can almost always name whatever movie TCM is showing within a few seconds. It’s a pointless gift, but I’ll take it. Keeping that magic alive. :D

The only somewhat famous person I’m connected to in any way is a former NASA head whose daughter was in my Girl Scout troop for 3 years.
