I am the current recipient of other people’s stuff. One of my best friends just moved back to the area, but her new place is completely different in terms of size and style than her old. She gave me two club chairs and an oversized chair. Since she knows I have one kid who needs to furnish his first post college apartment this summer, and a second who has to fill his part of a kitchen, she’s giving me anything she doesn’t want anymore - standing paper towel holder, cutlery organizer, knife block and knives, large rug, floor lamp, side table. Then my sister is upgrading furniture and sending me a recliner and sofa.
The club chairs are nicer than my regular chairs, so I may keep them. I think I will send S22 with my one not great club chair and the couch we have in our play room. I’ll keep my sister’s couch and recliner for our playroom, and the two nice club chairs to replace the not great one and to fill an empty spot.
Anyway, point being, I’ve been taking other people’s donations and while I’m happy to be outfitting my guys places for free, I want this stuff out of my house.
On my own front, I got two bags of clothes and one of shoes donated this weekend, felt good!
