Kitchen contractors are coming tomorrow to reface our cabinets. They asked me to employ every cabinet. A few things already went into the donation box.
Disposed of all paint brushes and mixing buckets from our house painting job! Yay me. Now need to sneak the empty paint bucket which Mr. wants to keep for his gardening projects. Why?!!!???!!! He says the plastic cat litter pails from those old days when litter was sold in pails are disintegrating and falling apart. Thank goodness.
We had dozens of those boxes litter comes in sitting in our driveway being saved by DH for God knows what. I got rid of quite a few when I was getting all gung ho back in Feb March. They were all brittle from being exposed to the elements so would be useless anyway. The remaining ones were just breaking apart when I tried to pick them up to put in the trash.
Iām still out of action for the next few weeks as I have at least 6 more weeks non weight bearing then partial for however long after that. Omg my house is such a pit! DH did ask me the other day if he would be able to use the dumpster at my office (yes!!!). Not sure what that means but trying to not get too excited.I
Our neighbors that have been very good neighbors are planning to sell up next year to move to his grandmaās old farm house once they have done it up a bit. I told DH we really should clean up the front of our house of old vehicles and other junk before they put their house on the market. H3 concurred so fingers crossed.
Keep all the stories coming - itās great motivation for when I can finally get back on board
I have to say we repurposed those cat litter pails quite efficiently. Used them as car wash buckets, as containers to haul plants and dirt for the garden, as cement mixing buckets, you name it. Only this year we finally had to buy a couple of those orange Homerās Buckets. But the paint bucket irritates the life out of me. So⦠it will be disposed of when Mr. has a big off-site meeting. B-) Also need to chuck the roll of tar paper Mr. managed to bring into the new garage. We have not done any roofing jobs since roofing over the dogās kennel 17 years ago!!!
Got the first email for the September Sweep. Setting up my space today for the 3 containers. They are labeled a little differently from other declutter tips.
Donated 3 bags of basement items, baskets, bowls, and other things I came across that have been unused for years. I had saved a couple of things to sell, but if I havenāt tried to sell them in 10 years, will I ever? I decided not.
It was flattering that a realtor came to look at our house for a possible sale in the next year.
She thought out FULL storage room was still grand. I wish she had said it had to be nearly empty
for Hās ears. There is a question of updating a master bath. My hallway is full full full of bags but as they come
on Friday for a pick up I intend to add to it. H will be away tomorrow night and Thursday night so fingers crossed.
I am purging as if I am moving.
Was pawing through my shirts this morning and realized there were about four more that needed to go because they were always in the way instead of being worn. Next Goodwill pile started.
What do you do with clothes that are still good, still fit, but you just donāt currently wear them? I have probably ten sweaters that are still nice and I still like them - but I currently have to keep my house warm (for my mom) and canāt stand to wear sweaters on a daily basis in the winter. (I havenāt worn any of those in 3 years.) I have 2 sweaters that I usually choose when going out for the day when itās really cold. My closet is large so space isnāt an issue - but should I just donate them anyway? This is the problem with my mind - it canāt make decisions, and then the indecision becomes an annoying obsession.
How long do you project that you will need to keep your home that warm? How many of the sweaters are classic styles that you can expect will still be fine with you three or four more years down the line? Then hang on to them. Itās Ok. Or, cycle them through the current rotation.
