<p>Has anyone checked their application status yet? Most of the unis I applied to says that they havent processed my SSR and recommendations yet. They were paper based, btw…</p>

<p>Ok. Serious confusion here. Is food/housing allowance given by employer a part of father’s income? Even when no tax has been paid on it?
e.g. total take home salary is 15000, but the income taxed is 10000 because the 5000 was allowance…
So the income is 15000 or 10000? If I put 15000 as income, and 5000 as allowance a couple of steps below it…would they think that the total income is 20000?</p>

<p>If you are doing the ISFAA or CSS, then no. Father’s income is the net salary. and there is a separate box for putting in allowances. Its at the very end of the income list.</p>

<p>I would say your father’s annual salary is 10000, and the allowance is 5000. Whether it is taxable or not is not important for the financial aid app. And as far as I know, allowances are also taxed in Bangladesh. I dunno if that is the case elsewhere.</p>
