@ivyaspire,good luck for the SAT,btw when are you taking the SATs? Which subject test are you gonna give? Btw which school are you from?

dont worry about sat scores guys. we asians have that advantage(& disadvantage too as asians are the ones least considered for admission). btw i’m taking phy, chem, math & bio-m in sat 2. and believe me, last year 24 guys from our school took sat1 & none of them got less than 2300.

and what do you mean by ‘volunteer’? i mean, i know the literal meaning of course. i’m also a volunteer for unicef. since grade 9. does that count? i never thought of mentioning it in the resume.

OMG! 2300 up! Pretty awesome. I’d b happy if i can score 2000 up. Cz SAT score doesnt count that much. I’ve seen people with a 2300 on SAT end up with McGill (where SAT isnt necessary) nd 1700-1800 SAT people end up with a full ride.
I’m planning to take SAT II in phy, math nd chem. Hopefully in nov.

Guyz, i’ve a ques. If u hv any international olympiad participation, is that gonna b a big deal for university acceptance and finaid?

@akashdip,yes you should mention it on your ec,they appreciate volunteer work.
@ivyaspire,yes that is a huge advantage is you participated in any international Olympiad.

And I am taking math2,bio, US history. I will also take chemistry but not sure though.

Ohkay thnx for the info. Bt afaik this year people with IMO participation cant make it into IVY!! nd as u r frm holy cross, you might hv followed national curriculum. So dont take bio in SAT 2.

@ivyaspire,then they dont have what it takes to be an ivy student,the personality or something,you know but it does not mean that you wont get selected either just because they did not get selected. So just have faith in yourself, may be you have the spark that they want in their students,so just keep your hopes high.
Nd btw what SAT sub test should I take then? Nd whould you mind telling me which school are you from?(if you don’t have any problem)

Btw hv u guyz selected which uni u r gonna apply?

@amyharvard when i saw your name i thoght it might be the account of a harvard guy. Cz there is a bangladeshi in harvard named amya or sth. :D

You can take math 2, phy nd chem. People frm bd usually dnt take US HISTORY, nd bio is nt that easy.
Well, i guess u won’t mind cz i dnt wanna reveil my school name in cc. :D

@ivyaspire,lol ,hopefully a future harvard student (confident!!! Lol)
I will apply to a tons of uni
harvard,yale,princeton, cornel,brown,stanford,MIT,uni of pennsilvenia, uni of Michigan, vandy, amherst,williams,brandies,berkley,duke michigan state, uni of maryland,

macgill,toranto uni, york uni

so which uni are you gonna apply to?

@ivyaspire,no problem,I understand.

^enough of that guys. colleges are a long way off. chillax for now. what type of music you guys listen to? preferably the english ones…

@akashdip,I love coldplay,adele,avril,celine,kelly clarkson, metalica, some of pink floyd songs and dream theater. But I listen to all kinds,whatever sounds good. What about you?

Coldplay rocks!!! its my fave. i like Adele too. Eminem does good too. i like bruno mars. and breaking benjamin & 30 seconds to mars. & lots others…

@akashdip,I love old music,like queen and heart .listen their songs,they are awsome.

guys which chapters of phy, chem, maths & bio are you studying atm?
i’m quite lagging behind…
phy=>wave optics & static electricity
chem=>d block elements & aldehydes-ketones
maths=>functions & hyperbola
bio=>cellular respiration & genetic mutation

All da best amy for harvard. Btw all of ur choice seems to be dream schools or u wnt need any finaid. I knw u r a really gud stdnt bt who knws, dream schools r really tough to get in.
Nd yeah I lyk coldplay, armin van buuren, tiesto, basshunter, owl city etc. :)

Dude ryt nw i’m just worrying about CRITICAL READING nd writing stuffs.

^why are you worrying about sat so much? dude, knowledge can never be expressed in a bunch of numbers. so i’m asking again, what are you studying now?
