I am currently studying LIGHT : REFLECTION AND
REFRACTION

^i’m study reflection & refraction too. only that i’ve to study it using Huygens’ Principle in wave optics. then, there is interference & iridescence…

@akash: Ahh your talk of optics makes my brain hurt. Optics was my worst topic in physics.
Chemistry: Nuclear Chemistry
CS: Recursions and bisection methods in Java
Math: Taylor Expansions and Taylor’s Theorem
Economics: Federal Reserve and monetary regulation policies

I have no physics/bio this year.

@amy: You should apply to a wide range of schools especially in terms of selectiveness. I know a friend from last year who applied to all the Ivy Leagues and was rejected from all of them. He had strong stats and thought he would get into at least one, but nope. One year of his life was messed up because of that. So apply to a wide range of schools.

Applying to many top-tier schools may give you the impression that your chances of getting into at least one of them will increase since the probability of getting into any particular school is an independent event. In reality, if you would be rejected at the worst Ivy League, you are wise not to apply to the rest of them unless you have absolutely no problem writing all the essays and paying the full $75 application fee. You are better off using that time and money to do learn something new. Applying to multiple top-tier schools is in my opinion buying two lottery-tickets with the same number. It just is not worth it. In some instances there are applicants who get into a top school while getting rejected from a lesser school, but these instances are impossible to predict. I don’t want to discourage you, but in the end you may feel it was not worth it. So apply to a wide range, some top-tier, some medium-tier and some low-tier.

NP

@Np,thanks yes I will apply to other medium tier and low lier schools.

@NPcomplete i love optics very much. its one of my fave topics.
btw i dont know taylor expansion or taylor theorem. never even heard of them. so ignorant am i.

@amyharvard i would listen to NPcomplete’s advice if i were you. its too, you know, sorta risky to apply only to top-tier rschools.

why are all the '16-ers, sparing @NPcomplete, so silent? what happened, huh?

@akashdip,their mission is accomplished, they are all accepted to their dream uni, thats y they are silent, lol

^then it pretty selfish of them. shouldnt they help us make it to our dream schools too? xD

@akashdip,yes your right, but they just despaired suddenly, lol but we can help each other out and make it to our dream schools too.

^no. i trust them. these guys arent as ‘bad’ as you’d like to think they are. they’ll help us. atm they’re probably celebrating their acceptance. xD

@akashdip,I was jk.yes they must be busy with visa and stuff and of course celebrating.

oh, how i wish that i’d be doing the same the next year! but, i’m sure i wont get so lucky sigh

@akashdip,hey never think low of yourself, always keep your hopes high, because that is the thing that drives you from inside to achieve your goal. So just chill and keep your hopes high.

^ 100th post, huh? cool!

wow…I didn’t even noticed, Its my 100th post!!! Yuppieeeeee

LOL guys. I guess everyones taking a breather… the last few months have been hectic. Finally, we can afford some “untensionful” rest.

But dun worry, we’ll be back…

^you better be, man. you better be…

RoughE,we were talking about you people, akashdip was really missing you guys, lol

Hey everybody! I’m from BD too. Nice to see so many members from BD. However, I’m also going to apply for undergraduate for '17 but feeling very anxious. BTW, how many of you are applying for undergraduate for '17 & where? I’ve to discuss something with you as I’m from Bangla Medium & don’t know anybody well who can me. To whom who has got chance: Do you know any good institution which provides excellent preparation for SAT 1 & 2 or did you attend to any such kind of institution? Thanks in advance :)
